How do you do it? if the anime have the first 3 or more episode that have a slow start, I would've stop half way in ep. 2 and abandon the series, I don't care if it's the most talk about, or it have amazing end, if it doesn't catch my attention, it's doesnt exist.

so how do you guys stick to an anime with a slow start?

If the synopsis interests me, I give it 3 episodes. Otherwise, I only try new series if a friend recommends it or l have more spare time than usual.

I can get through a slow beginning if I've heard it's really good. That said, it also depends on what I'm watching it for. If it's the action, then a slow beginning is less tolerable. But if its more story or drama based, then I can understand maybe if it needs a couple episodes to build up.

I don't really care if an anime starts slow with its pacing, but if I find the characters or the story especially uninteresting in the first 2 episodes, I drop it. I'm really picky about what anime I watch anyways, so I don't stumble upon "bad" anime as often.

cuz you keep hearing how good it is? maybe

took me about 30-40 episodes before i really got into gintama. i mean i kinda liked it but tbh i kept falling asleep at first haha. but i mean i did find it somewhat amusing and since comedy is my #1 genre i just kept going and well i now find it hilarious and also it's not all comedy

If the pacing is to slow and the story isn't that good I drop it like a rock. Boring if I'm sleeping through it more than watching it I'm done with it.

Stick to it only if you're interested in the ideas in the series

three episodes is my deal
funny story thou is that when i got into Avatar the Last Airbender (even thou it not anime) i was given volumes 1 and 2 so i convinced myself that i would abandon the series if not sold by the end of those two discs
the first 7 (four episodes a disc) were great but i wasn't 100% but that all changed when the avatar state attacked.... the temple...

This is what the problem Steins;Gate presented for me because it really didn't pop off until episode 8 or 9 and I watched the first 3 episodes 3 times on three different occasions over a year span. I finally said fuck it and sat down to watch it and....jesus...christ....one of the best animes I have ever seen in terms of story and character. So after that I honestly don't notice slow starts anymore after a few episodes if I don't enjoy whats going on I leave.

This is pretty much the same thing that happened to me, each time I would tell myself "I'll put a hold on it for now, watch a couple series first," and I would do that so many times it took me more than a year to actually watch the entire thing.

Darker Than Black's first episode bored me to death. And now, it's 2015. Still haven't watched beyond episode one.

I usually watch the first 3 episodes and decide. There are exceptions though.

I actually dropped Gintama after episode 2 because I thought it was kind of bad,

but people kept commenting on the SKET Dance episodes, saying Gintama was still their favorite or was still better than SKET Dance, no matter how great the SKET Dance episodes were, and I really liked SKET Dance at the time. I ended up giving episode 3 a try and the rest is history
