I recently got laid off, and I wonder what else is out there to pick up on.

What do you think is a good part-time job that people, (at least you know), usually love? It can be anything from food to retail, to customer rep, to something from home.

People hate when I mention it in general but I worked at Wal-Mart for a couple years in high school and I want there long before I was at just over $14 an hour. Hated dealing with people but paid well, got benefits.

Do you like the outdoors?

Before I started working at the DNR full time, I was what they called a Natural Resource worker. I worked at a State Park, doing grounds keeping, which mostly consisted of grooming the trails, and hanging around the beach talking to girls in bathing suits, and driving around on a 4-wheeler.

I even worked on prescribed burns, when we had to burn down the brush on the bluffs, and trapped rattlesnakes, measured them, tagged them, and released them somewhere else. I've had tons of jobs, and that was by far the most fun.

It takes a while, but you can end up getting a permanent position where you make like 3 times the pay, and you get tons of benefits since you're working for the state.

Worked for the zoo one summer it was okay outdoors all the time doing concession. You're young as one of the other folks mentioned check with the state and see if they have work in the parks they always need warm bodies.

You can make straight razors in your spare time. They sell for more money than knives.

I worked part time at a printing shop, it was pretty cool just messing with the machines and cleaning them from time to time. The pay was not that good though :/

I have heard that part time package handling for Fed-Ex or UPS pays well, and has different shifts to choose from.

Luckily for me, I found a part time job doing what I love.

I hit the gym 4-5x a week and I recently got a job at my local gym. I work the front desk and handle registrations, sign-ins and such. It's convenient for me cuz after my shift ends, I can just work out right after.

First off, sorry bout get laid off.

Secondly, work at a coffee shop or something where you can also make pastries, probably look at job postings (not on craiglists though, can't trust that site).. I guess it depends where you live and what's available to you with the degree you have.

My favorite Part time job is the one I have now. I'm a PA at my local news station. I get to work in the studio and sometimes I get sent out to grab stories like fires or local events. It's an awesome job but I also have a video production degree. You don't have to have one but it helps to get the job.

A part time job I didn't mind was when I worked at my local grocery store. I worked in produce, the overnight shift. Since it was overnight, I didn't have to work with customers. I would stock the shelves while listening to my iPod, and got paid an extra 2 dollars per hour than the day shift. Also I was moving and lifting a lot, so it helped me to get into shape.

Sorry about your job though, good luck looking.

Try craigslist in your area and send about 20 emails. You are bound to get a call back from one company.
