If you're a student being a tutor in a subject you are good in is very nice. You get to set your own hours and you get to set your own pay scale. I personally charged $20 an hour to tutor Algebra 2. Partly due to the fact that I had to meet them at their house which was 15 miles away and spend some time on the side while not tutoring to put together material. Most parents with kids failing math or other subjects will pay upwards to $50 depending on how much one-on-one time they need with tutor.

Word of mouth spreads too. I started with 1 kid and tutored him in 8th grade math. His father told some other parent who's kid was failing math in 9th grade so I started tutoring 2 people in 9th grade math (Algebra 1 if I remember correctly) and helped bring their grades from a F to a B- in a month. After their 9th grade year I was a Junior in college and was tutoring college level classes (C, C++, C#, Java, etc.) and on the side tutoring 2 more kids who all happened to be in same 10th grade class as the two I was already tutoring and they all wanted group sessions. I dropped the pay to $15 an hour for each student and made around $60 in one hour.

I stopped tutoring in my senior year of college due to me getting a job as an intern at a company doing software engineering. In which I used in my resume that I was fluent at tutoring people on C, C++, C#, Java, math, etc. and got in.

So, tutoring is best part-time job in my opinion.

The best part time job I ever had was when I was 19. I was a part time assistant manager for FYE. I got to choose my own music to play in the store and it was in the country so it was never super busy. A lot of teenagers came in and although they were younger than me I made a lot of friends that would just come in and hang out with me my whole shift. It was a really laid back and neat job.

But if you like cafe work, B & N has a cafe :)

I would love to work at B&N. I was talking to a girl who works there and she said they have super high standards.. ! "World-Class customer service" lol
I'll still try though x3.

Not sure what she means by super high standards for entry job there as a bookseller lol. Just be nice, and your customer service is already World-Class ;). Good Luck Jakari =]

I delivered pizza for a year or so and LOVED it! On a good night i could make $20/hr easy after tips. And I got paid to play with food, which is way awesome. Pretty rough on the car though. A lot of extra city miles.

I work part-time at a card shop / hobby store. It's super chill and I get to play card games and watch anime pretty much all day.

The only downside is Yugioh.
Those players are such a pain.

If you can, bartender, waiter, and delivery makes the best money for minimum wage.

A school receptionist.

You basically sit all day get paid just browsing the internet while you pretend to answer a few calls.
