About all the threads on this forum that just ask random idiotic questions? Does it make you sick to the point where you would like to choke the OP?

What is your favorite condiment? Ketchup? Mustard? Mayo? Soy Sauce?

What is your favorite brand of toilet paper?

What is your favorite toothpaste?

How much wood could a woodchuck cuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

As opposed to serious questions? Honestly I like the silly ones, they some times bring up things to think about that you don't normally consider, and its fun to relax about it. To get away from the real work of sorts.

I find the silly topics boring. I like deep thought provoking topics.

Sorry, forgot this is the intellectual salon. No fun topics allowed.

No, I don't want to choke anyone.
There seems to be a good mix of silly, serious and perverted, so there is something for everyone's tastes.
Thanks for asking me how I feel though, anything else you want to know?

I like a mix of topics and these super-frivolous ones are a fun, low-risk way of interacting with folks and finding small points of commonality and diversity. Some of them even end up being about things I am a ltitle curious about, even if they aren't important at all.

Sometimes I do think that now that we have a "Chit-Chat" forum, some of these would be better off there, but we're all used to them being in General Discussion, and less used to "Chit-Chat" so...I'm fine with the threads and I'm fine with them being in General Discussion.

My favorite recent one is about whether you pour cereal or milk first (or eat cereal dry --which in my opinion should only be done when consuming as a snack, and not for breakfast). In the past I enjoyed ones about waffles, and bacon.

Hmmmm. I guess I just love breakfast!!

(Snort) for the most part they are not my cup of tea.. That's why I avoided the GD as if my life depended on it. I was a huge fan of the ED, but after the fusion of the ED and the GD I have been holding my self back as hard as I can not to totally troll the hell out of everyone of them damn dumb mindless threads..........!

But I have gotten over it somewhat I can handle some of them now, but I still wanna kill the people who make the what color nail polish threads and shit like that! sorry I am no fan of the pointless.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's a general discussion thread and stupid questions fall under that umbrella; kind of like those dumb things you talk about with your friends.

Pretty much this. I love serious discussions as much as I love nonsense. Can't stay locked into one mode for too long. It's bad for you.

It doesn't bother me. Diversity is a good thing, and while ED served its purpose by separating more frivolous topics from the more serious topics, but really its isn't necessary when nobody is obligated to participate in threads they don't like. Lighthearted and silly topics give everyone a chance to participate that otherwise wouldn't or couldn't with the more heavy stuff. From what I have heard, most people would rather have fun with threads that are more inclusive than see all the flame wars, which turn everyone against one another. In light of that, one could see why Extended Discussion is gone. Accept it, this is an anime website, not CNN or The New York Times. But really there's no reason why we can't have both kinds of discussions. When you make a thread, how you describe the Original Post usually determines the direction ppl will take it in, and if you don't like they way the conversation is going, jump in and say so to redirect the discussion. If someone is being continually disruptive, simply ignore them, or report it to the moderators. No matter if it was in Extended Discussion you couldn't control what ppl post, and if they'll take something seriously as you would or not. Pfft, really who knows, with enough whining and bitching they might bring Extended back later, though I doubt a complaint here and there constitutes enough demand to warrant a necessity in doing so.

Well, I do remember that you didn't take no for anything in the ED. You always kept telling that you had these extensive knowledge and tons of merit in martial arts.

It's like Spoiler Alert: I'm always right.
