Humanity will have endless conflicts marked by brief incursions of peace until it adopts a non corporeal existence.Peace is usually referred to as the time it takes you to marshall and rebuild your forces. The only time Humanity has any unity is when it is referred to inaccurately as an all encompassing"humanity". Biologic life competitiveness is all inclusive. In keeping with the spirit of this thematic I'm working diligently ,and somewhat unwillingly, to become what I preach.

I agree we're headed to war, really we're always heading in, out and back in to war. Human nature really. But humanity in general I don'tmind. I've had bad experiences and good and the good far outweigh the bad.

This is interesting and enlightening to read all the various opinions and ideas brought about by a single question.

I don't think humanity a bad or good, I find it interesting as to what we have done and what we are going to do, whether it is good or bad.
Of course I did lean more on the pessimistic side of things, but I don't completely ignore the possibility of some problems like disease and world hunger being shifted towards less of the population being affected.

At close to 50 years old, it really hasn't changed much from 1965. The US, Britain, S Korea, Australia and France were in Vietnam, there were the Arab Israeli wars, Pol Pot was killing 2.2 million? India and Pakistan were at war... etcetera etcetera. One thing about today, is that it's a little better than back then. There's really no chance of going thermal nuke anymore. I don't mean 5 or 6 bombs by some nut terrorist or rogue nation, I mean Russia and the US open the bull pens for a full 37000 + 49000 = a whole shitload of nuclear warhead exchange. We don't even possess half that number anymore. So the SALT and reduction treaties worked somewhat. Be glad we don't live under that umbrella any more.

I'm honestly scared for humanity. Everyday I think about how life was in the "old days" and wonder what it was like to grow up like that. Now, of course there was segregation, countries at the brink of war and other scary things happening. However, those things are still happening today, and human beings have changed so much.

Human's have always had war between each other but somehow it's worse with new technology and all. Technology is good when it's in the right hands.

This is a deep question meant to be taken seriously, but remember this is your opinion.

Based on Humanity's history and the current events where do you think humanity is headed?

My opinion, War. Humanity has had a long and bloody history, even now with Israel and the Palestinians in conflict.
The war in Syria, ISIS.

War, as I think, Is inevitable.

What do you think?

Sadly we will always have war. But as long as there is M.A.D looming overhead it will never get too out of hand.

There's a balance in nature, as EVERYTHING comes at a price. This is why "peace" is truly unattainable.

So, based on that, straight to Hell, along with all the ambulance chasing lawyers.

I'm going to go with "hell in a handbasket" for the OP's question.
Reasons:
We ignore climate change, even though science overwhelmingly supports it.
Diplomacy is becoming something that makes some Americans angry while most seem happy or at least enticed by the prospects of war.
The most impoverished in the US are targeted as mooches while they have the least, and the wealthiest get hero status, even though once you get wealthy, it's pretty easy to stay that way or increase your wealth (I know a man who makes money loaning his money to pawnshops via collateralized loans, he makes at least $72,000 a year off the loans without ever leaving his house, and if the pawnshops default, he gets to keep their stuff, which often retails for 2-3 times what he loaned them).

Well thanks to the internet and people being able to connect from all over the world, it has become easier to see the good and bad in the world. People in this new generation, my generation are becoming more open-minded in my opinion. All of my friends are very diverse, and my college has a huge foreign exchange student program. Everyone in my generation is so f***ing tired of racism, sexism, and sexual orientationism, just prejudice in general, I think that we are striving for change. We are more educated and technology has brought us extraordinarily far. Even though our instincts as predators tell us to kill, we must kill to survive, and men must kill men to reduce competition for mating, and protect their future families, there is still a growing trend in open-mindedness across cultures, and people are slowly becoming more agreeable, at least with the younger generation I mean. Kids are not born racist, sexist, or hateful. This is a learned trait. I know this from personal experience, having all kinds of friends when I was little, but later my parents and their friends telling me I should be cautious of those with different colored skin. It broke my heart. I couldn't go against my own family, but I lost my best friend because of it. So I can't wait to see what my generation brings to the table. Because I know we'll make a difference.
