I'd choose the first one.

I'm fascinated with swords and the art of sword fighting. I'm also a pretty strong guy and have quick reaction time (due to playing a lot of football and video games lol). I think I'd do fine close quarters. I like being up close and personal. I'd probably die because I lack endurance, but what I lack in endurance, I make up with my strength. If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die bashing in skulls and slicing off limbs.

I'd choose the first if I were on the Carthaginian's side so I would be under the command of the brilliant general Hannibal.

I'd choose the second one if I were on the German's side even though they lost the battle, it was a Pyrrhic victory for the Brits.

The first one is one of the worst routes in Roman military history. The second one is a classic example of British military forces underestimating the enemy with the French following suit. They wondered why the American forces didn't want to be used as reenforcement for the British and French units this is one of the many reasons why.

But if I had to pick one it would be the Battle of Somme day one with a French unit not British they took the heaviest causalities. As someone said earlier be good with a shovel since that is they only way they knew how to deal with this type of combat. If you want to beat trenches move faster than the other guy and get around the ends of his lines.

the first one definitely, after studying a bit of roman history, they were a force to be reckoned with. it also gives me the best chance of surviving lol.

Normally that may be true, but they lost the battle of Cannae. Badly. Hannibal's double-envelopment of their forces resulted in the majority of the Roman forces being slaughtered.

Ouch i didn't know that, then maybe i will take the fight seriously and turn the tide. Were there many barbarians(other tribes) fighting for the Romans, because i know when they let them join, their quality decreased tremendously
