How complicated are you? How hypocritical are you?
Posted 4/17/15
of course everyone is a walking talking hypocrite. i personally think that's why a few people become "extremists" because they don't want to contradict themselves... but in the end they become a cuckoo instead.

_______

have you ever wanted something so bad, but then after you obtained it, you sort of go... i don't really want it anymore. i think i'm complicated in that sense... i never know what i truly want. it's as if... not having something is better for me because it leaves me feeling desired, and looking forward to something.

and that's just one example, i suppose. there are so many other facets of me that are complicated. like love can totally change my personality, i suddenly become possessive... >_>;; and being in love hurts me...

perpetually questioning my existence and purpose.

People are complicated nobody fits into neat little boxes that you can label and understand how that person feels and sees the world. I've know people over a decade and they still surprise me with their beliefs and opinions on things. Getting to really know someone is the work of a lifetime if it is even possible.

If labels have any use its to facilitate discussion so that we can skip over some of introductory explanations of our positions. Obviously this comes at a cost of accuracy when used to describe a individual but can be useful as a quick introduction. What they shouldn't be used for is a stick to beat people around with as in doing so your almost always assigning beliefs to the individual that they may not in fact hold.

/thread. No, but seriously most of the people that posted in this are about 18, or lying about being 18. I mean, I was kind of interested in this thread, but honestly it doesn't seem like it would be an 8man esc pessimistic view, or really an arbitrary rationalized view. Most people really just commented about how dark and hardcore they think they are. Realistically everyone here is probably just a somewhat normal person. Some are probably creeps, but all in all we're all way too complicated due to human nature, gender roles, social expectations, religious beliefs and even cultural. So all these "quirks" that everyone claims to had are mostly due to that and how your parents raised you. I mean most of your decisions are based on what your parent's do. You'll mimic the things you like and subconsciously do a lot you don't like about them. So really our "convoluted" behavior is just a pattern based off of mind sets. Also media. Like Anyone that's about 16 to about 24 is pretty much here due to pokemon/digimon being a thing, and adult swim for incorporating main stream anime in the USA. I mean, other countries probably did the same at some point as well. Our thought processes are also based off of our friend's and what complete strangers online say. I mean, hell, 4chan made me into an elitist for anime, and a little desensitized to porn. So because i'm a white middle class male who works at a convince store, but still lives at home with mommy and daddy while watching anime trying to save up to move out, my view is the myself is pretty skewed. Other people may not see me that way, but really you're just putting on a persona fitting to whatever situation occurs. If you're with your lover(s) you could be romantic and passionate, but 20 minutes later at work you're a diligent worker whose trying their best to blend into the store like you're a piece of furniture (ask anyone who works they will know exactly what i'm talking about).

TLDR: Your situation makes you who you are, and your facade decides how you act.

Everyone is an hypocrite in their own way and a liar.

But I don't see how being gay, a christian and a scientist at the same time is hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is when you are homophobic, for example, but accepts lesbians only because you think they are hot and hate gay male couples (I have seen this a lot).

I'm pretty sure everyone has done something or will do something hypocritical in their lifetime. It may happen naturally or unintentionally and I think that's ok as long as hypocrisy doesn't define you as a person.

When I first realized I was bisexual, I was also like that because of my catholic upbringing but I thought about it and my conclusion was that God loves all sinners, you are not the biggest sinner in the world if you are bisexual, there are a lot of good bisexual people out there so by being bisexual all you are doing is committing a sin like everybody else, you are normal.

that was when I actually still believed in God lel
