I've always wanted an IRL anime friend, but none of my friends like anime and use it to pick on me so I guess I ran out of luck.

Nope. Pretty much everyone I know has watched anime. As far as I know, they all watch it casually, follow one or two animes. A lot of them read manga as well.

It only makes it easier to make friends who have at least one common interest with you. But in your case, I guess not.

Different strokes for different folks.

What are friends?
And what's this 3d world you call "real life" you talk about?
They both sound like they suck.

I have recently discovered a few people at my school who watch or know what anime is and I had no trouble talking to them and becoming what I consider a friend. Once I got comfortable with them it was non stop talking. Even when we disagree I find it interesting to hear why their opinion differs from mine and the arguing about it can sometimes be fun as well

Yea, at my age you just don't find many conversations opening up about anime. So no, I don't have anyone in the 3d world that I share my interest in anime with.

Nah. Can't say I'm looking either. I'm not like a huuuge debater of anime and types and all that stuff, I just watch and like a show or don't. I don't buy many goods either so I would probably be a pretty awful anime friend as well lol.

I got 3.5 anime friends IRL. I say .5 because one of them isn't really huge on it like the other 3 and me. Met them all at work. A couple of them came up and started talking to me about anime because I like to wear subtle anime shirts to get others to come up to me, huehuehue >.>, It works too.

I used to hang out with a lot of people, before my hardcore anime days, but slowly everyone just went their own ways, had kids and the likes so rarely if ever see or talk to them. I know there are anime/manga people around, I go to the bookstore and see people in the manga isle, I wonder to myself if any of them are on CR lol.

Really I would love to meet people interested in similar hobbies/interests IRL, somehow i just don't think thats going to happen anytime soon.

It's good to have things in common with your friends. I have 2 friends/acquaintances who have pretty much no common ground and it gets super awkward. Having friends who have things in common with you lets you experience things together and if they don't like that one thing really then that's okay. If you can't accept that they are different and like different things than you then you are being a little immature.

I always thought other anime fans where a myth! lol but on the real I've never had any friends IRL interested in anime. As dumb as an excuse as it is I just have had no idea where to find them (outside of conventions that I've never been to). Most of my friends are only interested in EDM and smoking weed. Despite the fact I may need better friends I make stupid excuses for myself not to branch out to "my own kind", although I sometimes wish I had an anime buddy IRL

Most of my friends from high school that like anime only really like Naruto, and DBZ.

Didn't find friends to have good anime convo's with until a couple guys in a local Smash Bros group chatted anime for a while at a meet up.

I actually have a lot of friends who are into anime. Pretty much every single person I really talk to watches it. I go to conventions around my area a lot and it's so easy to find friends.

I have two friends who watch anime, one sorta and one sorta a lot. They have different tastes than me, but I do like talking to them about anime. Another person I met suggested SAO to me, and I loved it. Although at the time I didn't want to watch it, because I was being a bit of a hipster.

Although, I would probably talk to them about something else first, before anime.

I like talking with people about my weird otaku interests, except the only people I know with them are here.

I'm still sociable with other, real, totally not fake people because I like music, movies, samba, and other nerdy things.
I just don't get to talk face to face about anime/manga/other asian shiz
