Yom HaShoah
Posted 4/16/15
Today, in Israel, is Yom HaShoah. It's the National day of commemoration to remember the 6 Million Jews who were killed during the Holocaust.

It was 70 years ago this year (1945) that concentration camps were liberated, this after 90% of Germany's and 90% of Polands Jewish population were exterminated by the Nazis, and millions of European Jews in countries throughout died either in concentration camps, death marches, or were killed in ghettos.

Even if you're not Jewish, as I am not Jewish myself, take a few seconds or minutes to just remember the lives of the people killed, and to remember the horror that was the Holocaust.

Just take a minute to remember.

Additional note: Today is the one year anniversary of the Sewol Ferry Accident that killed 250 South Koreans, mostly students.

Rest in peace, all who suffered and died. Let us remember now more than ever what has happened and hope that we can learn from it before it is too late.

I think of that time, and can only see the people who did not help the Jew's and allowed them to be exterminated.

The sad thing is the world didn't learn a damn thing from the Holocaust
We continue killing each other because of race, religion, ethnicity, etc.

I'll be the wet blanket that points out it's not only Jews. Add in the non-Jews, the Armenian genocide, the political dissidents, Christians, jws,homosexuals........list goes on .....

It's far more than 6 million.

Just saying, it's not just about the Jews. We should be remembering EVERYONE because we were all touched one way or another.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

We will remember them. Never again.

Thank you for going out of your way for this. It is a bit faith restoring to see people still care about what happened to us.
