Hey Crunchy... Heard some words that really broke me today from someone really important to me.

I'm unable to sleep(thus being posted at 1 AM eastern) So i just wanted to ask.

How do you get past a heartbreak of any type.(To separate from breakup posts)

What I've been doing lately is assessing whatever situation inside my mind, thinking about what happened during the situation and what my options were after thinking about everything. Then I try to plunge myself into new engine activities, activities that I don't consider harmful to myself (like something addictive) or others. I've also been listening to music that will match the mood I want to feel. For example, lately I've really been into Sister's Noise by FripSide because it makes me feel upbeat and happy. I hope that helps some.

Your heart isn't broken, else you wouldn't be here to make this thread.

Sounds like you just heard something that you weren't expecting or hoping not to hear.

There are a lot of things in the world that will piss you off or tear at your feels.

Just look to tomorrow and eventually you'll learn your own way of dealing with foolishness.

But do understand it is foolishness, breakups and other gut punches shouldn't get in the way of your future.

Take a moment, scream. Punch through a box, run up a mountain. Then move on for the better.

Yeah, but making a thread for "how do you get over hearing/seeing something that cause you to be extremely upset" didn't really suit my purposes.

I don't really have a word for it. Depressed isn't big enough. Heartbroken seems absurd. It's something in the middle. I don't know...

Sorry to hear that, friend. I usually distract myself with drawing, video games, and of course, some anime. Or have a good ol' venting session with a family member or close friend. Or sometimes on the internet.

I LOVE to talk out my problems. Even though I don't do it often because I don't want to burden others. But it really does feel good. We all should do it more.

I think what you feel is betrayal not necessary is it the same as a broken heart but often causes or is a result of heartache
You get over it a moment at a time sometimes the right words from a friend or another loved one or something totally random can trigger the healing response... This being said try to just move on with your life you never really know what will be that moment you hit bottom of that despair and you begin to rebound onward just keep and open mind and a leave your heart open to random things. CLosing the heart or searching for answers too hard is almost guaranteed to make you keep that feeling longer just try to not dwell on it and youll find you can let it go that much faster. if it still bothers you at random times after ward just keep on moving keep it as a memory you can put away not something to wear on your sleeve. Ive dealt with depression for 15 years due to a lot of trauma in my life... im always told im a well adjusted individual when I go to psych evals etc ...JUST NEVER GIVE INTO THAT DESPAIR and you win. good day
