There's a lot of things you can do. In fact, one of my good friends recently broke up with his gf of two years. What we do is we get the guys together as much as possible and just hang out. We've all been together since day one so we're basically family and we help each other out whenever any one of us is in trouble.

Try to keep alcohol consumption to a minimum, hang out with good friends and time. Best of luck to you.

it's normal to feel like you can't go on living on the first day of a break-up... (assuming it's a break-up?). or even the first week, you feel like you can't go on living or having a part of you missing.

during that time, you can ask yourself these questions and reflect on yourself. "what happened?" think clearly, and objectively. "is it worth being sad over someone who is no longer interested in me?" "Would this have gone anywhere even if she stayed with me?"

"where did i go wrong?" "What lessons have i learned". etc. Once you find the answers, there's no point in trying to mend the past, but focus on bettering yourself for the future.

Just think about it this way, when something like this happens yes it's painful maybe even unbearable but someday you'll get over it. For the time being it'll be painful, but life goes on why can't yours? All is not lost, all you need is take a step forward, if might hurt and you might feel like giving up but i promise you it get's better. But not if you yourself aren't prepared to take the next step, it all depends on if you're willing to move on.

If you are lucky enough to have someone you can talk about it with, talk about it, one time. Get it out. If you don't have someone you can talk about it with find someone who has to listen, at least once. Remember that you can't keep going on about it, even though it is going to keep bothering you, some things you have to bottle up inside of you, in a healthy way. I agree with the theory that watching love stories and sappy emotional stuff is a good idea when you are down. Avoid the whole brooding darkness thing. Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry alone. It doesn't mean don't cry, it means do it alone.

Talk to a friend about the issue. Cry if you need to. After you've calmed down, have fun with that friend and laugh twice as hard as you cried.
