Yeah, there's a hill and a road that goes down it near my area. The posted speed limit was 50 and the right lane was going really slow. Someone in front of the long column was going 30 or something. Annoyed, I signaled and got into the empty left lane and went speed limit for a while. I couldn't overtake the front car in time to make my right turn so I had to signal again to switch into the right lane again. I made very sure to switch into a decently sized gap. I always accelerate through my turns so I don't hold up people behind me.

An SUV followed me to my driveway and some dude in a black shirt came out. The exchange went something like this:

Guy: "Hey, you drove really dangerously back there. My baby son is in the car and I don't appreciate you cutting through traffic like that."
Me: "Excuse me?"
Guy: "I know you saw me. You were mad dogging me through the rearview mirror."
Me: "No, I wasn't. I don't remember ever seeing you or your car."
Guy: "Come on. Don't act stupid. I think you owe me an apology."
Me: "Uhm. I didn't do anything wrong. I signaled all my moves and was going the posted speed limit. I don't understand why you think I did something wrong."
Guy: "You young punks always drive so recklessly. You gotta stop playing dumb. It's dangerous."
Me: "Well, what do you want me to do? I don't think I did anything wrong."
Guy: "Even if you don't think so, you did, so you should still apologize."

There was more to it but the guy also moved toward me and was acting a bit aggressive. I was about to pull my machete out of my car since I was still standing right outside the open driver-side door. My machete is tucked under the left side of the driver's seat. I felt like he was going to get more aggressive and move even closer. I eventually just apologized to him to get him off my tail and away from my house. Conflict wouldn't have been worth it.

Don't follow people to their houses. You never know if they are armed. It's not worth it.

I had a guy with road rage follow me home over two miles to my gated community when I was in college. I called the cops and they pulled him over when he was still tailing me and being a dick.

How much time passed between when you call the police and when the police arrived to pull him over? Did you just keep driving around until the police showed up?

I can just picture this guy saying "This bitch wants to drive slow, make me wait behind him. Okay, now I'm gonna follow his ass home. Okay, now I know where you live. You made me wait behind you now I'm gonna burn your fucking house down."

LOL yep it's almost like a no-win situation. You go speed limit or slightly above speed limit and road ragers will hunt you down. You drive fast to not piss off these people and you end up with a speeding ticket hahaha. I can understand being annoyed when you are on the freeway where the speed limit is 65, and some car is going 45 mph and blocking everyone behind him. But when people are going at least speed limit there's no reason to get mad.

Oh god no. Though I've run into a guy with spikes on his tires when I was a passenger (with my dad driving), and the most obnoxious muffler on a monster truck (with monster tires.) . Asshole basically tried to shred my father's car and tires up with those fuckin' spikes. Crazy asshole. Aren't those things illegal anyway?

It never happened to me (a road rage person yes but not the part where they followed me). I would have passed my house too if they were following me. People are crazy.

An angry driver would have to be absolutely ticked if he were to follow me all the way up the relatively confusing hill to my house.

If a road rage driver tried to follow me home, I'd stop by the side of the road and square up.

Yup I honked my horn at a guy because he was going as the turn lane was going. He was about 5 feet from hitting the other person turning in the intersection. As the light turned green I was in the other lane (2 lanes to turn and 2 to go forward) and the guy gave me the finger. I just smiked and the guy got behind me. I noticed 5 min later that he was following me so I called a friend and told him to get a bat ready. I pulled into my friends driveway and the guy got out across the street. he made it half way before my friend came out of the house with 2 bats and handed me one. I said "get back in your car now." The guy did but only after giving us the bird and calling us a few things.... people these days

Was driving my kids home from school today and this car behind kept honking and tailgating me for 7 or 8 blocks until I was near my house. I could see from the rearview mirror that the driver was shouting and gesturing and looking very annoyed. The speed limit on the street was 35 mph at one point and 25 mph at another point, and I was driving 5 miles faster than the speed limit because I didn't want him to follow me too close and get into an accident. I stopped twice to let him pass but he stayed behind me, so I drove past my house and finally he passed me and gave me the finger. On the back of his car was a big sticker that read "NOTW" so I assume he is a very devout Christian. He didn't look like a thug or a gangbanger.

Has these situations ever happened to you? What would you do in these situations? I thought about following him to his home to ask him the reason for his hostility but decided not to risk the safety of my kids.

this is especially bad because i have heard of road rage drivers following people home and shooting them. If someone followed me like that i'd drop 10 under and kick the turbos so they realize how much shittier their vehicle is, if they continued to follow me home and somehow kept up on the corners if they got into my yard a gun would be in their face because at that point its private property and i don't fuck around. Don't gewt me wrong i wouldn't kill them, i would just get them to back the fuck off and call the cops if they didn't. The law in alaska is different if i feel unsafe i can pull out a gun that doesn't mean I'm going to kill the aggressor though.

fyi a guy at work told me sone lady was teaching her daughter how to drive and a road rager followed them home and shot the mother to death. The guy ended up in prison for life, I'm sure you could google stuff like thus. guys be wary of people who try to follow you home.
I personally go on defense mode although i may speed away from an aggressor

Nope...
If you know it's a road rager, keep driving call the cops and DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR. If you know where the police precinct is drive towards it. Lock your doors so if you have to stop they would have a hard time getting in.

This guy got pissed off at me in a parking lot and I made the mistake of getting out of my truck....
I did not know if he was armed so I didn't poke his eye out and kick him in the junk. I think he got busted for assault later but I never had to appear. He might've managed to get into trouble with someone else.

I think that when people get pissed off at my driving, it generally means they're in too much of a hurry to bother with following me around.

Seems to me a good idea to stay in the car for several reasons, one of them being that a car is essentially a wonderful weapon in it's own right. If someone who is clearly showing signs of hostility towards me got out of their car with a gun while I was still in mine I wouldn't think twice before using my car like a fly swatter and attempting a 10 pointer.

The evil side of me has always wanted to turn someone into burnt meat roadkill on the pavement, but it must be someone who poses a severe threat and intent against my life ie a reason for me kill in self defense.
