It has happened to me twice. The first anime I force myself to finish was Yumekui Merry. I watched only two episodes back in 2013 when I wasn't a hardcore anime fan. So I decided to finish it because it wanted to finish what I started. It wasn't that bad, the anime was 7.5/10 in my opinion.

The second anime I forced myself to finish was Danganronpa The Animation. I only watched 1 episode last September (when I was new to CR). I decided to finish the anime early this year because of the interesting characters. It turn out to be a great experience watching this anime, 8/10.

Yeah I kind of am trying to finish Log Horizon 2. It's just so poor now. It was good in the first season but its just been going downhill. But I want to finish it cause I don't drop anything. If I start it I will finish it.

I'm the same as you, I force myself to finish what I start and end up thinking the anime itself isn't that bad once I do ^^;

Yes.

About 85% of the things I watched I probably wasn't entertained as much as I had nothing better to do. Which doesn't answer the question.

I won't name titles because it would just be a contest of who dropped the most popular (score wise, lol) shows. A good percentage of the 85% of things I watched were probably me "forcing" myself to watch it. Whether it was because "everyone is watching it" or a real life friend wanted to discuss it.

Honestly, every action show I felt that had little tension or build up and I finished it --- I forced myself to watch it. Not that I had to tie myself to a chair by a computer, I just had nothing better to do back then. I understand, in that case, it was probably because I dislike the action genre and just watched because it was supposedly good.

I've stopped watching 7 shows I trialed this season. With my history I feel I can judge if my time is spent well after a few episodes. I envy and pity fans that have to clear everything they start.

I forced myself to finish Genesis of Aquarion and Brynhildr in the Darkness.
The orgasms in Genesis of Aquarion were just plain silly.

Gurren Lagann, believe it or not. I accidentally spoiled the ending for myself and didn't like it, so it took me much longer to finish the second half than the first.

... I forced myself to finish Sword Art. (We all knew someone had to say it.)

I haven't started the second season, but I'm not inclined to any time soon.

I've almost always finished an anime that I've started watching just to see where it goes. The only one that I've ever recalled dropping was Ikki Tousen, or however you spell it. Tried watching it last year when CR announced that the license was expiring and it looked and sounded interesting, but the in your face ecchi and the fact that I had no freaking clue what was going on in it at all made me stop watching it after the first few episodes. Don't get me wrong, I like action anime, just need an understanding of what's actually going on after a few episodes to keep watching it, lol. So for that I one I guess I forced myself to try and watch it before it was gone from here.

As for other anime I've forced myself to watch, Diabolik Lovers, just to see where it was going and if it would actually get any better. While the animation and music for the show were nice, the story was just a train wreck. A lot of interesting stuff in it, but made no sense when all put together. And Cross Ange as well, I kind of had to force myself to keep watching beyond the first few episodes, because the content in those ones was a little off-putting. However, I'm really grateful that I continued that one, because it turned out to be a really good anime.

Though I haven't read the manga for Brynhildr in the Darkness, I know from the comments on the episodes as I was watching it that it deviated from it about a third of the way through the show. I know how you feel, because it felt pretty rushed at the end and about half of it didn't make sense anymore. While the things going on it were interesting, it kind of became a chore to watch at the end.

I never force myself. I've stopped watching a few with only 1-2 episodes left.

Diabolik Lovers...never.Again. I heard something about a season 2 and I am very disappointed that it's going to be released.
