Quite often.
For example ImoCho, Seikoku no Dragonar, Shinmai Maou no Testament, the first two and the current season of High School DxD.

More times than I can remember. This happened during the third and fourth years of college when I had way too much time and nothing to do since I was still adjusting to life with my sun allergy. Most of those series sucked but I did find a few that I liked.

Sword Art Online
Kill la Kill
Angel Beats
Saint Seiya - The Lost Canvas
Toaru Majutsu no Index
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Those were horrible and absolutely no fun, but I forced myself through them, because I don't like dropping something.

Generally it's been the case that if I've already given a show enough chances to watch a significant number of episodes, I'll force myself to finish the show, but these days I'm more willing to drop even with just a few episodes left if I've concluded I'm really getting no enjoyment at all from a show.

As others have mentioned above, two that come to mind are Sword Art Online and Diabolik Lovers. In the first case it was more a case of "well I've come this far, and it's a popular show, so I may as well get it under my belt so I know what I'm talking about." In the second case it was partly curiosity (I'd read some light spoilers so I wanted to see how things got there), partly that the episodes were so short, and partly because at least in this show the female character recognized early on that she was being preyed on and tried to remove herself from the situation.

I don't automatically aim to finish everything I start. I don't even require myself to get through three episodes like I used to. I feel I now know enough about anime and my tastes, and also how limited my time is, that I can make a good intuitive judgment based on one episode. If it is something where it would take longer for that "aha, I do like this" moment to come I'm likely to hear that from others and then I can always go back and watch it later.

Nope. I have skipped to the last episode a few times just to see how it ends (done the same with a book, just read the last chapter or last few pages) but I never force myself to watch anything. If I'm not enjoying it, whether it is the first or last episode, press pause/stop and mostly likely I will never return, no matter how good the reviews or friends' recommendations.

Of course I have. The biggest sinner to me in this regards is Inuyasha. Part of it was that I have a high regard for Rumiko Takahashi. Second was that after I had invested so much time I wanted to see how it ended . . . . what a fool I am.

You know what? I actually enjoyed those. I watched every minute looking for minute differences. I even rewatched them years later... masochist? Maybe.

Sadly you won't understand it any better for having watched the last episode but I must admit that for some reason I did finish that series. How I kept watching I don't know but strangely it is not in my dropped shows list. It was a keeper, LOL

I enjoyed it to an extent also, but also wanted to rip my eyes out at the same time. It was a very contradictory and difficult feeling.

I've forced myself to watch things that were recommended to me. Sometimes it pays off and the show ends up being amazing, and sometimes... sometimes there is a reason I have to force myself through it...

Sure did

Black Bullet
Mekaku City Actors
Psycho Pass 2
Blood -C

I could probably add more, but I'll stop here.

For all of these, I had this silly completionist idea that I had to finish them, or else I wouldn't have the right to call them garbage.

Season 2 is much better than the first, in saying that though I did enjoy season 1.

For me it was 11 eyes, not terrible, but there are far better shows out there.
