i forced myself yo finish Natsuyuki Rendezvous and Glasslip because i thought they would pick up but they both ended anticlimactically and were boring and dull until the very end. they had potential, with the good art and music, but the plot literally never went anywhere

I feel like I get in too deep every now and then. Lately I've cared a lot less about trying to finish all that I start where like a year ago and before I made sure to keep going on everything.

Log Horizon second season was a huuuge struggle, probably the biggest I've had in recent memory.

I used to do that when I had only seen like 2 anime and wanted to say I had seen more lol.
Like: Aiura, Chitose Get You, mostly short series

Also Soni-Ani for something more recent but I ended up loving it <3

Like another person said its less forcing myself through it and more I have nothing better to do lol.

The only two I can actually remember forcing myself through were Angel Beats and Gurren Lagann. I just hated the first half of both of these. I felt like Angel Beats was going nowhere, and I despised Kamina (I hate characters like him. I was actually really happy with ep 8[?] lol). Glad I stuck through them both though, both turned out to be really good. Although I'll stick with my opinion that you can skip the entire first half of Gurren Lagann.

Both seasons of Sword Art Online were a struggle after the first story arcs,
Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne severely bored me, but it had just 6 episodes so i grit my teeth and stuck it out
The second half of Guilty Crown just irritated me, and i can't say the end was worth it.
Maken-Ki. Can't stand it dropped it halfway thru second season because i felt like i was wasting my life
Rosario + Vampire... That bat. He ruined the fun of the series.

Oftentimes I'll drop, then watch an ep or two, then drop again till i run out of what i like and jump back to it.

I would tend to force myself to finish an anime if I've already watched half of the episodes already, thankfully it doesn't happen too often. I struggled through K, because i bought it on blu-ray thinking that it was gonna be cool, but ended up being absolutely shit with pretty animation. It was a chore to get through Gilgamesh, but it turned out pretty decent at the end.

Of course, the most recent one was Gugure Kokkuri-san! I initially dropped it half way through. I did think it was really funny in the beginning, but they just kept adding so many sexual predators and making jokes about them But I heard good reviews about the finale and how dark it was so I gave it another shot and stuck with it...not only did the series make me even more uncomfortable but I didn't like the ending/wasn't as gushy towards it.

There are others in the past but that was my most recent pain

Yes once or twice, but in the end I didn't finish them.
It's very rare for me to not finish an Anime because I tend to pick great titles 99% of the time, but yes it has happened.

I forced myself to watch Trinity Seven. It's probably the only anime I seriously don't like.

I just forced myself to finish Bakemonogatari. It was tough, but I was proud I managed to get through it.
I think there's a typo in the title, though. I think it was supposed to be "Bakamonogatari".

The text that flashes by too fast to read, and the b&w images that were thrown in at times made the whole thing look like it was thrown together by a highschooler for an art project on the night before it was due.

Two and a half episodes of inane and pointless dialogue followed by a half episode of something actually happening (usually the 'nice-guy-hero' getting violently beaten until someone else comes to save his sorry butt). Repeat that three times and that takes you through 12 episodes.

I kept going because I kept thinking that something meaningful has to happen at some point during these 12 episodes, right? But, I was mistaken.
