Isn't it funny how absurd the Bible sounds? yet people so wholeheartedly believe it, even though we can poke easy wholes in it like this.

Let's look at this from a more darwinian perspective...
Say a mutation occurs in a creature resulting in specification. By definition, this creature cannot successfully breed with members of it's parent species. For this new species to continue to exist, it will have to find other creatures who received the same mutation in the same time period. Where would it be most likely to find that? Hmm? Maybe it's siblings?
No reason to have another boring religion vs. secular argument. Either way, yes, in the beginning there was probably a lot of incest.

I interpret incest as not being considered wrong in the book until a certain part in the Old testament condemned it. Or shortly before that.

How did Noah's family repopulate the planet after the flood? What about when Lot had two kids with his daughters?

That being said, I don't think this is one of the major holes in the Bible. There are far bigger things to pick at if that's what people want to do.

The Creation story is an allegory and should not be taken as anything else.

I've heard the argument that "rib" was simply mistranslated from a Hebrew euphemism for the baculum, which most mammals have. Interesting stuff.

In the beginning God made man, his name was Adam- Adam was happy with himself yet lonely, so God took one of Adam's Rib while he was asleep and made Woman- Eve.

Bare with me on this one, if God used one of Adam's Rib to make Eve- does that not make Eve Adam's Daughter?
Even though God created Eve she was created using part of Adam, Eve was not made from Dirt of the Land like Adam was, she was made by part of him. Which if I'm not wrong is technically incest, she wasn't created From another substance but Adam.

Jewish interpretation of the early biblical books views them as allegory's and not something to be taken seriously. I feel many christians could benefit from this viewpoint.

No doubt about it...
It would also help if they actually read more of the Bible than just little tidbits....

If they skip a chapter or two ahead in Genesis they'd read the part when Cain killed Abel, then God curses Cain.... Cain can't deal with it and . . .
4:14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

Cain was worried that someone was going to kill him and that kind of precludes the idea that Adam and Eve were the only people on earth. That and the fact that there is no mention of Eve ever having any other kids and Cain did find a wife.....

4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Another thing is that there are Hebrew legends that describe the first woman being named Lilith and Adam couldn't deal with her.... Eve was her replacement.... (I understand that is from a book of satire.)

Too bad it's only a theory.

Why should you based it from a Christian/Catholic perspective?

Christians/Catholics don't rule America nor the whole world.

It's also Jewish and Muslim.

In the old Testament the Jews looked at God as a scary figure of authority that is rather Ominous and Mighty, if I'm not wrong it was not until the New Testament that Christians and Catholics came after realizing that Jesus called God "Father" one who is a child of God and not his Slave, not his Servant, and not even his fandom followers.

I say this because I prefer it from the view-point of the Catholics and Christian (Not the Jews nor Hardcore-Muslims/Islam), realize that almost every story in the Old Testament praises his punishment and not his kindness.

Huh, so Adam wanked off using his rib bone.

Not sure how I feel about that.

If god made everything from nothing, then why did he suddenly need dirt to make Adam and then one of Adam's ribs to make Eve? That's where I want to start.

Let's face it.After a couple of millennia plus these narratives could have originally meant anything. To attach modern interpretations to them is like remodeling the sphinx in the likeness of Micky Mouse.
