Post Reply What would you do if you child told you they'd stop loving you if you were gay
Posted 4/20/15
First of all, I wouldn't raise my kids to be such bigots, hypocrites and close minded ugly creatures.

Secondly, are they 18+? time to leave mamma's house and become a responsible adult: get out!!

Last but not least, anyone who says "I'm not homophobic BUT..." are the most homophobic people ever

I'm not homophobic, but honestly, if I were an orphan, I wouldn't wanna be adopted by a gay family. Not that I am against gays though

I can understand that. People often take personal preference as an extreme bias. For example:

I wouldn't want to date a black girl. Do I hate blacks? No.

You can be okay with gay marriage and not want to be adopted by a family of them.

You DO realize that's racist right? lol

Inb4 people take me seriously on the Internet.

Of course that's racist.

Oh I don't take people seriously on the internet at all. I just enjoy pointing out ignorant comments. XD Ya sounded pretty serious to me though.

I'm straight, but if my own child told me that I'd be pretty hurt anyway. Awhile back when I was 15, my mom told me if she ever found out I wasn't straight she'd kick me out without thinking twice and that upset me.

Honestly, I'd let my kid pick his own beliefs. I woudln't teach anything about gays. If they learn about it and decide it's not a big deal, whatever... If they learn about it and think it's sick and nasty, whatever... If they convert to Christianity because of peers and see it as a sin, whatever

Yeah I was going for a "I'm not racist, but..." thing.
I'm not homophobic, but I'm not comfortable with gays.

I couldn't imagine myself saying that to my parents.

I would briefly laugh for a moment, and then tell my child to kill himself/herself. But beyond that, I wouldn't care.

umm this is like a double negative. I'd never have a child and my orientation is kinda set in stone. I see boys and girls that make me go "That person looks delicious" but i like what i like ^~^

Why are you not comfortable? sexuality should not make anyone uncomfortable, personality should. I bet if you didn't know that they are gay you wouldn't feel uncomfortable and that should say a lot about what you really are....

Depends... if just knowing someone is gay makes you uncomfortable. There's an issue.

But it's totally natural to be repulsed by seeing them display affection or speak lovingly towards one another

I'd be quite disappointed and think I'd raised them wrong

Well, I agree with the the first one.

As for the other one, I feel uncomfortable(not repulsed) when I watch my brother kissing his gf in the restaurant and being all lovey-dovey, I'm like "stop or get a room". This has more to do with privacy than sexuality though.

Oh, well I don't really give a shit if it's a male and female. Now if it's two women, I welcome it

Oh now we're clear.

You don't care if the couple is straight.

You do care if the couple is two men.

You welcome it if the couple is two women.

You, sir, are what a call a "douchebag".

So if a man looks like this after seeing gays in love

Then he's a douchebag...

Okay... I guess a large, large, large percentage of men are douchebags
