For the past month, the Crunchyroll video player has been terrible for me. I haven't been able to get through a video without it freezing and not working again until I refresh the page. For the past few days, it has been so bad that I literally cannot watch a single episode on here.
I feel like I have tried absolutely everything suggested: I tried changing the Flash settings, updating to all the latest drivers, changing my dns, etc. but nothing is working and I am beyond frustrated. My internet is not the problem, because speedtest tells me I have a download/upload speed above 10mbps and a reasonable ping. I don't think my browser is the problem, as I am a Firefox user with minimal add ons aside from java and flash. Other video players on other sites work perfectly fine. I'd like to say Crunchy's servers are a part of the problem, but I haven't seen anyone else here complaining(recently) about the way their video works. I have been forced to watch anime that is available here on other sites that shall not be named instead, simply because their player works while Crunchy's does not. I am not happy to be paying for a service that does not work, and am on the edge of giving up the subscription if this is not resolved soon. I love this site and the way it's laid out, but it loses all its purposes for me when I can't do what I came here for in the first place. I would strongly appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this issue.

This is what another anime streaming site is saying about firefox at the moment.

"If you are using Firefox there is some issues with the latest version of the browser that they released.
It appears that the new version of Firefox (37), released on April 1 2015, has had code changes in the way it handles video playback.
At this stage until they release a fix, your options would be:
- use Google Chrome or IE 10+
- revert to an older version of Firefox"

I had some problems with firefox 37 and videos myself (video not moving and sound continuing or video but no sound) so I installed 36 and it's been happy since.

Thank you for the suggestion! I tried reverting Firefox as you said, but unfortunately my problem still persists I suppose I'll just have to wait this out for a bit longer.

I forgot to include that you have to break auto updates other wise it just goes back to 37 as soon as you close and re open it and turns into being a butt again.
Or does it still say its 36 etc? use the browser check on this page http://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=contact . The about firefox will cause it to update.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1003777 that is the guide to disabling auto updates. It took me 3 installs to work out it wasn't going to stay on 36. I have 38Beta, 37 and 36 installed now. lol

If you can try chrome or another browser for a bit to see. You might have 2 problems one being firefox and the other being CR. So I don't really want to be all wait for firefox to fix itself. In case it is something CR/ISP related etc.

The exact same thing is happening to me, when it unfreezes the sound just plays nothing else. I am using the Crunchyroll App and it is super frustrating, I have already deleted the app and tried it on another device, and still the same problem. Also, my wireless connection is pretty good.

Thanks again for the help. Unfortunately, even on Firefox 36, it is still happening(although it does seem a little better than before!) I would say I can assume that I was dealing with two problems, one being Firefox and the other being CR, and now I am merely dealing with CR. I'll wait it out for a couple more weeks with CR to see if things improve before I genuinely consider giving up my subscription.

Not only streaming for me on Firefox / Oprea but CR crashed both of them > Have fresh browsers / Flash etc/ clen the cache you name it!

I can watch Funimation / You Tube etc! Like you said the Darkside works fine!

Nobody wants to listen but it happens where it would seem to be a commercial break!

This happens to me too. One time I was so sick and tired of not being able to watch episodes and decided to click to the very beginning.

It worked. If you try moving the slider, it might work.

I too have been noticing this same issue starting to happen on Chrome as well over the past few days...it's quite frustrating, especially since I am not having any issues elsewhere such as Funimation or the like

Update: I am still on firefox 36, and things are now working again for me for whatever reason. Oh, Crunchyroll, what a finicky site you are... Welp, might as well catch up on some anime.

I'm having unbelievable lagging. I'm on Google Chrome and I've cleared my cache. Doesn't make much of a difference.

Dammit, Crunchyroll, I love you but that means I want to be able to watch you.
