Has anyone ever gone through aggressive cancer or has been an immediate family member of someone with stage 4 cancer? I'm sorry, I could really use someone to talk to. My family just got the awful news today, and the prognosis isn't good. All I know is that the chemo will kill my mom's only working kidney, (I'm a kidney match so that might be an option), and the chemo could buy her 7 years...or a couple of months.

And really, I could use some feel good stories right about now.

I can give you feel good stories, or I can give you cancer stories, but I can't give you both sadly.

Only thing I can say is be strong for your mother.

That's okay. Yeah, it's just hard trying to act okay and to be strong.

I once had a friend who's mom had ovarian cancer. She had her ovaries removed. She already had three kids and it was unlikely she was going to have more.

That's basically what my mom had but she had the entire system removed (uterus, tubes, all of it) But today, we found out that there's some lymph-nodes under her kidney that are cancerous along with another lymph-node on the other side of the abdomen that they're going to remove May 6th.
Did she have to go through any chemo?

No problem, I also suggest taking it slow and talking it through with as many people as you can ( don't go through it alone). A couple of my friends have been in therapy and they say it does work and help them resolve certain issues.

The outcome with cancer in my family has not been good.Hopefully, your mother has a much better result.

Thank you again. Yeah, I'm highly considering doing some therapy myself. I just really dislike crying in front of people.

I don't know. She seems healthy now, it happened long ago so I don't know the full details. I knew a girl in my elementary school that had bone cancer. You can tell she went though a whole bunch of phases, she had one of her legs amputated, but in the end she is healthier now.

Yeah. And for that, maybe a professional would be best. I wouldn't want to burden my friends.
