I usually just decide to give up and not sleep. There's no point in fighting it if you don't really want to be in bed, so you might as well use the time productively to play games, watch anime or whatever else. Yes, you'll likely suffer the next day, but if you can pull through the day without napping, then you should be plenty sleepy that night. Feel free to pm me if you wish to chat about this. Ever since I was very young I was dealing with this sort of thing, and I've become a person who doesn't value sleep that much... so ... yeeeah.. :p

Well, I do as well.. doesn't really stop me. :p But, it would depend on what type of work you do. I don't really get a chance to relax while I'm at work so I never feel tired no matter how little sleep I get the night before. I do totally feel it as soon as work ends though. Driving becomes downright dangerous.

I suffer the same issue almost every night, ugh. I either just close my eyes for a few hours and pray for the best if I've run out of sleeping pills. I have tried everything. From listening to softer music, reading/watching boring things. Nothing works for me. 'cept sleeping pills.

Speaking of which, melatonin induces sleep. Just a suggestion for future reference. Because I imagine you wouldn't want to just go to the store in the middle of the night to buy some.

I agree, I am a minuteman (not to be sexist, women can be minutemen too, it's an anachronism).

I need to be bored and sure that I'm not needed in order to fall asleep. But you need you. The worst thing we can do is find a place where we are not needed when we should be sleeping.

Our alarms should do the work for us, even if it's not as satisfying as finding it ourselves in the moment.

My suggestion is to find a way to get bored fast, but I am a hypocrite who is always tired because I'm waking up at the wrong times.

Try 'delta wave' music. Type it in on YouTube there are loads of 8 hour tracks. Always makes me relax and gets the mind off things. Delta waves are apparently asscociated with deep sleep.

Take an aspirin or two.... then think of either someone hot or nothing.... The "nothing" can sometimes be more distracting. It's about turning the thought process off and letting your subconscious take over.

Don't look at screens 3 hours before 10pm.
Do relaxing activities after 8pm.
Focus on your breathing. Don't think about work at 730am.
