YES they CAN change the CoD formula, several games has done it before, Medal of Honor was a succesful military FPS that did many different things in its time before it simply became an irrelevant franchise, mainly because we are being drowned with regurgitated bullshit like Call of Duty and Battlefield who has discovered that there is in fact an audience that will buy EVERY single game they put out regardless of approach.
Another example to this popular marketing strategy is Ubisoft's Assassins Creed series.

It's not about comparing two different genres in games with one another, it's for the sake of making you understand that a franchise can do something different with its franchise and still be succesful.
If you can't understand that, then I frankly have no idea what to tell you.

They can change the COD formula and they have, as shown with the recent exo skeletons in Advanced Warfare. Because of the exos, AW became an entirely different game than the previous COD games. I'm not saying that they can't do something different and not be successful. I understand what you are saying, but I'm just saying that there is only so much they can do because COD is a military FPS shooter.

well then, we stop here? We agree to that we disagree.

If anyone watched the trailer.

You can see they stole the wall running idea from Titanfall.

If there's anything good to say about this game, it's that your mechanic arm can turn into a minigun. It sounds so absurd that it almost feels like the game makes fun of the future warfare technology.

Treyarch games are usually good competitive games, at least for console. BO2 was the best competitive CoD to date by far, so hopefully Treyarch does good for that community. I'm sure the campaign will be same old stuff and pubs will get filled with even more gimmicks, but maybe they can make something worth playing for the pro community.

Call of Duty got old real fast for me same stuff over and over. I was barely convinced to buy modern warfare 3 and black ops 2, didn't even want them.

Same shit with a new coat of paint.
This could be named COD Advanced Warfare 2 and no one would bat an eyelid.

Much to many people's disgust, I actually really dislike the Treyarch line of CoD games. I think the stories are mediocre and multiplayer bothers me. I really enjoyed Advanced Warfare's storyline, definitely prefer it over the BlOps storyline. But apparently that's just me, and a handful of others.

Guess I should answer the posters question. Saw the news, groaned. Probably won't be getting it, if it is similar to the older ones.
