Would you prefer your teachers to be laid back or strict?

Personally, I'd prefer a laid back teacher. For the most part, I tend to pay more attention in classes where I have a teacher with a laid back attitude. It's a matter of the atmosphere, per se.

When I have a laid back teacher usually I initially dun like it cuz I need someone to push me to do my best work. With the laid back teacher I always end up taking advantage of them being laid back, like turning stuff in late with no penalties, or missing test day and just doing it at the next session.. lol

I like a happy medium. As long as they hold control over the class, but don't just lecture with "my way or the highway" type deal.

Strict. It challenges me. I like teachers that could make a good connection on the things we're learning. That's how I retain the info way longer for decades.

I had enough of these chilled (faux-hippie) teachers of mine that would sit, indian-style, on their desks, teach for 30 minutes, then open the tv and make us watch random disney movies.

I dunno, strict teachers make me get stuff done while laid-back teachers make me enjoy the class more.

I feel like I'd much rather go to a 45 minute session with a cool teacher than be in boot camp for 45 minutes on math *shudders*.

Laid back. I tend to have more motivation to learn with laid back than with strict teachers.

It's a lot harder to communicate with a strict teacher. But then again, I've done well with strict teachers as well, the only difference was that they're strict in class but laid back when class is over is it's break so it's a lot easier to communicate with them.

I like when teachers and professors are chill, but I also want them to maintain appropriate control of the class and have command of the subject. Otherwise, sitting there is a waste of time and I don't learn anything. I'd rather have a strict teacher who teaches well than a laid back teacher who sucks at what he/she does.

Strict. I appreciate teachers who have a low tolerance for bullshit.

I like a laid back teacher because they are the ones who tend to understand that we sometimes need a break from all our other classes. I also find it easier to learn with them

I would say laid back because I never do well with strict people.

A good bit of both would be good I think which is hard to do. I had a lot of laid back teachers who weren't good at teaching, then there were teachers who were good at their jobs but VERY strict. I had three teachers that was the perfect blend of both: my American Studies (US history) teacher, my Earth Science teacher, and my Sophomore English teacher. My history teacher lived under the policy of "I don't care when your notes are due, just get them done until the unit test". That's one of the reason I got an A+ in that class was I just loved the way he taught. My Earth science teacher was sort of the same but his tests were very difficult and most people in my class struggled with them, but he taught us well. My English teacher was very interactive with our learning and was a pretty average guy but I learned a lot from him.
