Damn feminists trying to seek out every little thing they can find and use it agianst anyone.. ;(
I wish they could stop calling them self that and be a "real" feminist

So I ask could one be a humanist while working like a feminist (working for female rights where it actuly needs to be?)
Even though one would say feminist targets a gender why could they not be humanists as well?

But...but...gamers and feminists are mutually exclusive factions which are inevitably locked in perpetual war, aren't they? It's sort of like elves and orcs, forever bitter enemies? No way Rockstar is just trolling everyone (feminists, governments, and gamers alike) to drive up its profit margins on what ultimately amounts to just another sandbox game?

Yeah your right of course, lets continue to misquote people on tumblr, rant insainly on twitter and watch people shouting at "SJWs" on youtube because the war must go on. More views, more twitter followers and more click bait for everyone! Yay!
As I said before, I'm tired of this meme

Their satire on the state of society is not a result of a board meeting on how to generate press to promote the game and maximize profits, if that's what you suggesting.

Hate to say it but it's a game.(That has been done before) The writing is just a framing device for the game design. A result of writers given time to play with a script while the texture artists, 3D modelers and programmers build the actual game. No one in marketing is dropping any hints to the writers.

Who makes a product without asking the most fundamental question a for-profit enterprise must answer: how is the product to be sold? And why shouldn't the answer to that question impact the product's construction or development?

It does. The gameplay centers around crime and freedom. They sign deals with record companies to fill the soundtrack with music their players will like. All the social commentary is a result of writers being creative, not a mandate by the marketing department.

Feminists, do us all a favour and try to help in countries where women really need help. Your stupidity is just amusing.

A very successful marketing strategy involving planting stories about how controversial and potentially dangerous the first installment of this franchise was in conservative tabloids is why it got off the ground in the first place. A smart production team would take note of that and continue to sustain that controversial, edgy image for the franchise as long as possible. The franchise's history reflects this.

Edit: One is hardly saying there's no artistic merit in GTA, or that it's exclusively the product of a marketing strategy. Nevertheless, the controversy surrounding the franchise is planned, and has been from day one. The content of each game is both the product of an artistic vision and attention to what will sustain its marketability based upon what has worked in the past.

Why would they give up when they keep getting more? US courts continue to support this bleeding heart crap, all they have to do is bitch enough and get people riled up, and they can get government institutions to do stuff about it or laws made etc.. And in those other countries that need it they get killed or raped and imprisoned for being feminists..

Granted I dont think they will get anywhere here the game is Mature rated and games like anime arent all intended for children.. Parents are at blame is their kid is playing GTA to young..

For the record GTA V is a good game but the way it treats women is incredibly sceezy and sexist. I think its a pretty egregious example of the sexism that exists in games.

Yes it's sexist in some ways with the stereotyping. But it's equally as sexist to men. The game is all about murderous, sex obsessed men who want nothing but to kill and go to strip clubs, run after money and act like thugs. That's pretty sexist against men as well. The whole game is sexist trash.

That being said, it's fun for the first few plays and in the end it's a game. People are going to like what they like. I'm more Black Ops myself.

The gameplay let's people act out their own crime drama. That is the draw. That is how it is designed and marketed. The reason for their rise in sales isn't because they managed to piss of some feminists.

The designers will throw in gameplay elements for shock value and the marketing team will highlight it. But I wouldn't call that trolling. It was done in the past so to chalk up their game design as a attention grabbing marketing ploy takes away from the work they do. If you want to see an example of game design by committee look at Final Fantasy XIII or Tomb Raider.

The lack of its inclusion suggests to me you didn't see this part.
