We haven't dug the rabbit hole deep enough to reach him yet. Yet.

The interesting thing about Jones is that he has somehow managed to make being a conspiracy theorist a lucrative enterprise. It's downright impressive even if he is knowingly spreading misinformation.

Oh, his gig is nothing new.

Spiritualists of the 19th century pretty much worked the same way.

Before Jones, even in political conspiracy, lots of tabloids during the Founding of the country had the same tone and general concept.

Sooooooo Nobody else was like, "oh.. It's Buzzfeed. I have no need to watch this"???

I mean it's Buzzfeed. It's hipsters and tumblrtards trolling the rest of the world for views and likes.... That's what they do. And they collectively have the critical thinking skills of an earthworm.

They're the reason most articles are in listicle form (one phrase per item listicles as that). They always take the ultrafeminist, ultra PC route.

And GTA? it's like fucking shooting fish in a bucket...

See, I said something like that as well. But apparently when you accuse Rockstar, a company which has a documented history of doing exactly that with their games, of doing it throughout the GTA franchise's history you're apparently a raving lunatic. Better be careful. You'll catch my craziness.

A crazy person like me would say there's probably something to that. A pattern, one might say, in how these games are being produced and marketed. But hey, don't listen to me. I'm crazy.

Yes it's sexist in some ways with the stereotyping. But it's equally as sexist to men. The game is all about murderous, sex obsessed men who want nothing but to kill and go to strip clubs, run after money and act like thugs. That's pretty sexist against men as well. The whole game is sexist trash.

That being said, it's fun for the first few plays and in the end it's a game. People are going to like what they like. I'm more Black Ops myself.

No its not. The protagonists of GTA V are viewed more or less as "cool". You have to understand that the stereotypical views of men are not as harmful as those of women because there A. not as much of them B. Dont feed into a long culture of sexism against women.

GTA V gives the men autonomy and control they are fully developed characters and not models solely there to be oggled and objectified by the player.

Maybe it's because I'm a woman and don't see it from a guy's point of view, but I don't see how the male protagonist comes off as cool. Yes, the things you can do in the game are cool because of the nature of open world, free physics and a rather shady backstory. But ultimately he's a guy who's enslaved to his own choices and the more he denies his humanity the further he sinks in to a shadowy helpless existence that defines itself by more enslavement.

I really must have somehow been sheltered growing up or maybe I was just too serious a child, but if something on tv was full of body image issues I'd turn it off. If a person tried to make an issue of my gender I'd ignore it or start a discussion depending on the situation. We're not savwed to other people's perceptions, after all.

So guys like good looking women? So what? We oogle guys just as much. It's just a game.

I say Franklin is supposed to be thought of as cool. Trevor maybe and Micheal isnt cool at first but becomes cool. Your analysis of the game is more GTA IV than V. V story is about Micheal going back to his criminal ways and it making him feel alive again.

They problem is not GTA V oogling women in particular or that having women to oogle at in games is bad. Most feminists agree that the problem is that thats the only way women are portrayed in games with a few exceptions. Its a matter of balance. We have thousands of different males in video games some ugly, some fat, some muscular, some nerdy, but generally women are one skinny well endowed body type who are just there to be looked at.

I think Moviebob put it best with this statement "Mia Shirunu looking like she does is awesome, Every women looking like Mia Shirunu is not awesome, its just stupid"

And I just don't see why is a big deal. Yes, there not very many women in gamers who aren't supermodels. But how many heroic guys in video games are 400 pounds?

When it comes down to it video games are entertainment. Entertainment is an idealised view. The vast majority of media itself is an idealised view. I don't see Lara Croft as a size 16,true. But I don't see Batman as a chubby CPA in a rent controlled tenement that moonlights as a crime fighter either.

I won't deny it would be nice to see variety in female characters but that's a matter of what's easier to sell. In the vast majority of cases gamers are like me: they don't care. Most of my games don't have a female option. I don't care. And the VAST majority of female gamers funny care about the state of female characters.

Simply put, it's about the game. Not politics.

Street Fighter has a lot of overweight characters just for an example. Another thing can be said about the fact that the idealized bodies of men arent for females to oggle but for men (with a couple exceptions like Raiden from MSG2) to idealize as a power fantasy. Like I said before thats not a bad thing but a matter of balance.

Its the fact that all the idealization serves men as the sole audience of games when its about 60/40(statistics may be off) last time I checked.

I can see where a guy can like the power play of the character but who says we don't oogle the guys? I have a good number of last friends both online and off and when we're playing for fun....yeah, we oogle too. Again, the vast majority of female gamers don't care about the characters looks: we care about gameplay and storyline. Our about shooting each other.
