Street Fighter has a lot of overweight characters just for an example. Another thing can be said about the fact that the idealized bodies of men arent for females to oggle but for men (with a couple exceptions like Raiden from MSG2) to idealize as a power fantasy. Like I said before thats not a bad thing but a matter of balance.

Its the fact that all the idealization serves men as the sole audience of games when its about 60/40(statistics may be off) last time I checked.

I can see where a guy can like the power play of the character but who says we don't oogle the guys? I have a good number of last friends both online and off and when we're playing for fun....yeah, we oogle too. Again, the vast majority of female gamers don't care about the characters looks: we care about gameplay and storyline. Our about shooting each other.

Yes but there not designed to be oggled. There designed to be power fantasies and the game revolves around that. Certainly there is more diversity in body types among male characters than there are of female characters. One may also point out how the characters pose with Male characters generally looking badass while females are generally posed to look sexy.

I understand what you're saying. I'm just saying from a gaming woman's point of view, is just not a big deal. There's far more important issues for feminists to get their panties wadded over.

And here we have social justice in all its glory:

A dude telling a chick her experiences don't matter and she's woman-ing wrong.

Meh.. That wasn't all too bad. I expected them to be dumber.

How come nobody every complains about all the fucked up stuff that happen to men in video games? Victims of violence in video games are mostly men after all.

If thats what your getting out of it your a idiot.

Im basing my viewpoints on womens experiences I know and I interact with online and off and articles on the issue I read. You could equally take a different sample size of women and get different viewpoints. Life doesnt work on the GOTCHA system. A women saying that something is not sexist does not instantly make it not sexist. People have different views and opinions. I know characters are designed for male power fantasies and not for female oggling because of design notes and interviews

Considering you already acknowledged the absurdity of your premise, there really wasn't much more to say.

Because feminism (at least in the Western world) is feels >>>> facts.

You stated that is entirely rubbish. Which is correct.

Dunno what you mean by the gaming thing. If anything gamers realize like the rest if society just how ridiculous Western feminists have become.

As this very thread proves.

But I suppose a prerequisite for adhering to such fundamentalist ideology is to eschew evidence whenever "problematic".

Dont know if you got an email but we got to stop the pyramid quotes. This comes down to a matter of disagreement on feminism I personally find feminisms points to be valid. You do not. Neither of us are going to agree on that.

But if we can agree on one thing its tumblrs use of the description "problematic" is stupid.

Just out of curiosity, do you think that fighting for women's rights will get you laid?

It was simply a question. Glad you deleted your little attempt at being snarky. It's just that I can never understand why guys feel the need to become "feminists."
