Previously this would just happen sometimes, so I mostly ignored it. However now it's happening every epsiode, with every show.

Essentially what happens is the episode is playing and then all of a sudden the picture just freezes and sound stops coming out but if I press up/down on the remote I see it's still moving along (0:45>0:46>0:47) and if I wait roughly half a minute it resumes at that point (1:15.) This freezing or whatever happens randomly in the episode, and happens multiple times. It's very annoying because I miss a small portion of the episode and it tends to happen in important bits

The way I fix it is to open Crunchyroll on my iPad Mini 2 and AirPlay to the Apple TV. Sometimes just for that section and then I resume the episode on the Apple TV until it happens again, and sometimes I just let it finish running from the iPad. I've tried restarting the Apple TV, switching to a new show and back, and just leaving it paused just before the point it freezes and giving it half an hour or so -- none of that works.

My Apple TV 3 shows five bars of strength and is connected at 150Mb/s according to AirPort utility. It's essentially two metres from the router (Airport Extreme Base Station.) I have no issues streaming with any of the other services on the Apple TV. We have 100Mbps cable so download speed shouldn't be an issue.

Is there any information about this?

Me too, only I'm getting it on the apps as well. My guess is that it's a defect in the transcoding of the video, where the iPad version is not broken when the Apple TV version is. Netflix had a lot of these issues early on. A real pain whatever it is.

I am having the same issue too. I usually have to back out of the episode and then resume playing so it loads the video and the skipped part will play normally.
