I do usually donate my old clothes, though they can tend to pile up, and a lot get so ragged that I end up tossing those. Goodwill is my clothes donation spot of choice (even when I lived around the corner from a Salvation Army -- where I sometimes shopped for clothes and things, and did donate furniture to because they made it easy, but where I didn't ever donate clothes).

Drop them off at Value Village (I guess it's like Goodwill in the US)!

This by the way, is actually a cool store. Since all of the inventory is donated, you're likely to find cool collectibles and truly "vintage" clothing. Tons of books, DVDs and old school electronics (even video games). One man's trash is another one's treasure.

I'd skip the shoes though. Everything else that can be laundered or cleaned is done on site, so it's not like you're sifting through heaps of stinky odds and ends.

If it's something that was expensive or fancy, I'll see if any of my friends or family want it.

Otherwise I donate my clothes to charities or non-profit outlets. I gave away 5 large garbage bags of clothes this year, alone.
It was ridiculous how large my wardrobe was.

I normally give mine away to family.
Or I donate them to thrift stores.
