I once saw someone get banned (I took part in the discussion/thread that caused him to get banned; both pre- and post-ban). It was kind of horrible. It was on a thread asking women about why they would/wouldn't date a guy, or something of that ilk, and you can probably already guess some of what the guy did just from that.
He posted some slightly anti-women sentiments, and then started arguing with one woman about what she had answered. The argument went awful; he said nasty things about her thoughts, she defended them fairly logically, then he said nasty things about her (sometimes couched as being about her thoughts, but they obviously weren't), and she tried to defend herself while remaining (moderately) civil. He began getting nasty about women generally as well. When the argument wasn't going his way - and that occurred quickly because her thoughts and arguments were logical, whether or not one agreed with them on a personal level, so others weren't backing him up while some did back her - he got a second account to have a second voice go against her. This one remained "logical" and didn't attack her on a personal level, but it supported his main account and tried to turn others against her; it also seemed to waver a bit on the "women are horrible creatures" agenda, being decidedly not pro-women but remaining more moderate in its disdain for women. It was a pretty horrid bullying tactic, targeted partially against women generally and partially against this one woman personally. It was like a mini-GamerGate came to crunchyroll, with (I think it was WhiskyTangoFoxtrot) as the "evil feminist taking away all things good." Because clearly WhiskyTangoFoxtrot has an evil feminist agenda?
It took a better part of a day for this person to get banned.

I dunno. Some of the feminists on Crunchy are pretty awful towards women. But in that condescending hipster way where they think ain't no one smart enough to realize what punks they being.

Kids these days. Making bigotry chic and haute couture.

You should give feminists some slack :). Some have really gone through lots of mistreatment by guys. Guys are really really really sexist, but it's so normal that no one realizes it.

On another note, feminists breed the best anti-50-Shades-of-Grey action in the bedroom, j/s. *drools*

I got banned by slowdanse for playing too much on the forum games. I spent a lot of time in there. Back then, my niche was "caption the avatar above." She pmed me to take a break. "It's good for ya," she said.

lol, that is very funny to imagine.

Lol, did you report them or...

If you're not a fag, i would not see how that is even remotely offensive

No, I didn't report them. They were already banned before I read my PM. Someone else reported them. Probably for something else, I though, as that PM isn't overly offensive. No idea what he was banned 100 years for. Probably a spammer.

I'm sorry, maybe that's not the reason. I've seen Vega given chances over chances lol but he ends up doing the same shit so... maybe they aren't ip banned.

This hidden sub forum often sheds a lot of light on what's going on in regard to people being banned: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumcategory-6/closed I periodically peruse the closed threads for that reason, it can be sort of entertaining.

Crunchyroll is actually extremely tolerant of trolls. Way more so than I think they should be. Sometimes you just know someone is fishing for attention/a ban (I won't name any names but I'm sure most of you know of at least a couple people who fit that description) and I'm often surprised at how many weeks or even months of warnings it takes to finally have action taken on them.

So yeah. I don't think Crunchyroll is taking a harder line on bans lately. I think there are just more trolls now who like to toe the line and see how far they can go.

After going through thousands of pages of forum posts, I show to you the first ever closed forum post in Crunchyroll (recorded) history!

The second day I was on CR I got someone banned for messaging me with pedobear stuff. I reported and sent screenshots and he was gone an hour later. The responding admin said it was a guy who's made several accounts and that they're watching for him. Most other sites don't give a care. So that's when I cancelled my trial and got a full premium membership.

Just out of curiosity and by no means an editorial comment, I see you listed Saigon as your home.I thought it was renamed Ho Chi Minh City as a coworker,( originally from Saigon) ,reminds me everytime I revert back to calling it Saigon.Has it changed?

It's officially Ho Chi Minh City yes, but some still prefer to call it Saigon. As I was raised, my parents called it Saigon so I guess that's why I do too. Some businesses still have Saigon in their name.
Either way, both are acceptable. I guess Saigon is more casual, and Ho Chi Minh City is more formal.
