Cooking is easy if you know the basics, you could make anything you'd think works well together and then bam, food. Baking is just accurate measuring, nothing free about it

the normal food is ok. there's lots of room for mistakes.

i don't think i can make fresh noodles from flour... it looks hard.

i can't bake either... there's less room for mistakes, and you have to get the mixing right, ingredients right, and temperature right... which is hard. can't self teach to bake.

Love to cook. I do prefer Japanese and India but I'm getting better at Chinese. I prefer organic and whole foods but love making sweets on occasion.

I'll take that as you can't.

Cooking is a basic skill that everyone should have at least some knowledge of. You should know how to do your own laundry and sew buttons back onto your coats. You should know how to make at least basic dishes.

I've been messing around in the kitchen since I was about 6 years old. I can cook pretty much anything on the stove since I'm very familiar with temperature control and the basics. I'm no good at baking, though. Japanese food is my default type. I can also make Taiwanese food.

Baking is pretty complicated in practice. Doesn't sound like it in theory.

Yeah. The only time I use the oven is if I need to keep some steak warm or I need to finish a roast or broil a fish. I can't make pastries since I don't really like them. My family doesn't have a history of enjoying pastries so I never learned. I'm much better at making soups and broths. I can also grill pretty well.

I enjoy cooking when I have plenty of time and I'd say I'm decent at it. For example this is my roasted pork loin recipe from yesterday:

Ingredients: 1 (one) 3-5 pound bone-in pork loin (thawed to a little above room temperature if frozen)
1/2 cup of molasses
1/4 cup of honey mustard
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tbsp. basil

1) Preheat oven to 325ºF
2) Mix all the ingredients together (Except the pork loin )
3) Massage the pork loin. (Stop laughing)
4) Score the fatty side (Watch this if you don't know what that means) and place in a shallow roasting pan scored side up.
5) Coat generously with the molasses mixture.
6) Bake for 3 hours or until the temperature reaches 170ºF in the middle. (Do you have a meat thermometer? Why not you heretic?!)
7) Remove from the oven and let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

I've been cooking my own meals since I was 13 because I became vegetarian. I had to figure out my own meals without being an inconvenience to my family. I can follow pretty much any recipe and even like making up my own. I also love to bake! I'd say I prefer baking but I'm better at cooking.

Love to cook & experiment in the kitchen... when I'm not lazy.

I love watching Iron Chef also. It's so mesmerizing how good they are.

I can make eggplant fritters, with a tomato dipping sauce. I think this tastes much better than eggplant parmesan. I can also make bomb curry....and chicken grape salad /drools. Anyways, I think most people can cook if they just follow the recipe. Most people having trouble with cooking usually don't know how to use a knife or follow instructions.....but I might want to follow my own advice because I'm a horrible baker.

i cook alot of rice and pork. the rice is just plain white with a bit a salt.
the pork is boiled in water with southwest salad toppings, lemon, a lots of honey, and a bit of cinnamon.
boil it down to a thick sauce. the timings is critical, too long and the sauce turns bitter, too soon and its still water.
some times i add a bit a flour.
start the rice first, 1 cup of white rice to 2.5 cups of cold water, 3 if the water is hot. add salt, and maybe a bit of oilve oil. if you add the oil, make sure to add it first, and then mix it evenly in the rice. a teaspoon or less.
the pork should be chopped into 3/4 inch square, and the water sauce should not quite cover the pork.
cook the rice on the lowest flame, and the pork on the highest.

i also make some wheat bread, but i skip a few steps on the offical recipe

I love cooking. I mainly do European cooking such as Rind (beef) Rouladen, Beef Bourguignon, Spaghetti Bolognese, Beef Sliders (beef in beer, beef broth and herbs for 8 hours in a crockpot served on ciabatta bread). I also make some deserts like Italian wedding cake, baklava, and some other stuff.

P.S. If anyone wants any of these recipes I can send them your way (Don't know how, new forum user). They take 3 hours at a minimum to cook with a 30 min prepare time minimum.
