It gave me something to smile about after all my friends abandoned me and I became a loner. BUT now, I can bond with my middle school best friend bc we both love anime a lot. So I guess I'm not a loner anymore hehe.

I've lived through my fair share of terrible relationships.

Escaping to beautiful worlds where "fairytales" are commonplaced and emotions are lived has helped me a lot. I have no shame saying that Ano Hana is my favourite anime and it's done wonders for me.

Umm... i've been watching anime for 2 years and it hasn't really changed me in any way other than just being a new hobby and changing my music taste to be half anime music. I definitely haven't made any friends from watching anime (although I found out some of the friends I already had watched it some although not as much as me and also met people through other things that happened to like anime). I guess i've casually started studying japanese in my free time too so I can start watching anime without subtitles (right now only understand basic stuff and can only watch things i've already seen without subs and kind of know what's going on).

I'm not sure how my life would be different if I didn't start watching anime. Perhaps I would have found some other interest and pursued it but I don't know if it would be any better. I would like to go to conventions and stuff but a lot of what I hear about them is really negative like the people there being smelly, awkward, and hard to get along with (this is what one of my friends who has been to a few conventions said). When I compare to other recent hobbies i've had I made friends when I played the Pokemon Trading Game for a year (stopped because expensive) and I also made friends going to Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments (still go to those). I guess the difference is you have to go in person and play people at tournaments but you just sit at home to watch anime. I suppose I haven't really ever participated in any anime forum until recently either (I posted comments on youtube videos and talked to random people on Twitch.tv's chat but thats it).

I was at home bored one day but guess what.......anime was there but seriously sometimes I learn a lot from the attitudes of the characters. Like House of Five Leaves everyone takes their time and movements are precise. Always learning something new from anime.

I started to watch anime and that got me into japanese culture and eventually language.
Not for watching anime without subs, I was really interested in Japan and then started to study japanese and their culture.

That got me to where I am, being fluent in japanese after 8 years studying it and along with my career I am earning a lot of money mainly bc a lot of enterprises fight for me being able to apply engineering while I use my english, japanese and spanish language skills.

People like me is hard to come by in Mexico and even USA, and all of that began by watching some random anime, who would have guess it...

I think anime gave me something to look forward to in life. Not only did it kind of help to broaden my experiences and showcase different morals, but also got me really interested in the actual culture of Japan. It's a little funny to say this and I don't feel it's something that Japanese people would like to hear, but anime really fueled my interest so much that now I'm seeking a major in Japanese Studies. It gave me a future by opening up the possibilities.

Hmmmm, People really bully me when I was still in grade school. And because of that, I got addicted to computer and thought of even yeah, suicide. But then, I discovered about anime, and yeah, it made me realized that, maybe, there's still something in the world that is yeah, beautiful. And I'm seeking for that beautiful thing in this world. Anime is my escape from reality. And because of Anime, the bullying stopped, because I've learned how to fight back [ not really punching or hurting people, but to become strong and facing them yeah something like that.] . And also, because of the Anime community, I learned that there are people who I can hang with and people who are kind. I gained a lot of friends because of anime.

Anime is something that is a real comfort to me, even when I feel like butt. It lifts my mood and there's just something about it that is quite rejuvenating. :3
