I find it hard to believe that she would let someone steal her work without at least getting compensated for it in some way, if not wanting to outright cancel the series. And there's no way she doesn't know about it, seeing as how the series is pretty popular.

(Although given Rumiko's ego, that's rather like asking why JK Rowling hasn't sued the Percy Jackson series--Just because they might consider the most hardworking imitation to be a "compliment" doesn't make it a standalone work of quality.
Or, more to TLR's point, why Rowling hasn't sued Negima--It would just bring the level of conversation down. )

How would Rowling feel about suing Negima though lol.

I mean Negi and Harry potter do share some undeniable similarities.

However the character design is pretty much where the similarities end. Negi is a genius with quite a bit of confidence in his skills, and he doesn't go to a magic school but rather teaches at an all girl's school where he accidentally get's into sexual situations with middle-school girls who are 5 years older than him. Then he learns Kung-fu, flirts with more girls, becomes half-demon, flirts with even more girls... I think you see where this is going.

Even though Negi actually does have a very strong shonen battlestory, a good chunk of it is a harem story with fanservice... She would be suing softcore porn.

As someone whose read all the Harry Potter books, I feel what you consider as plagiarism is too broad. They have very little in common with one another. Having a similar theme is not plagiarism. The content of the two would have to be almost exactly the same with very little differences. From what your saying, it would make almost every author a plagiarist in some way.

...Please correct me if I'm wrong, but when you say Negima; you're not talking about Negima the manga/TV series, are you? If so, I fail to see how they are even remotely similar.
