I've seen multiple people around the CR forums talking about how their country is inferior to another but really, if the country has decent living standards compared to other countries which are in a really bad state, should we really complain or instead be grateful we got to a "better" country?

In my opinion, a 'better' way of living doesn't make your country any better than another. No matter what country you are in there are people starving, and there are people who are homeless, there is crime and there is murder.

Not to mention what wrong things the Government itself may be doing.

The only reason why I hate a 'Country' is because I don't like its views, its peoples views or its actions.

Ehh. I think it's because they know how it is there. It's kind of a, "the grass is greener on the other side" kind of thing. In my country, which is Canada, there is a lot of racism towards Native Americans, (which I am Native American) so from my point of view, my country is shit just because of the way they treat my people. They look down on us as if we are scum and it's sick honestly. But of course outsiders would say, "oh my God! Canada is such a peaceful country tho!" uh, no.

There are so many ways to determine what is better/worse when comparing countries that you can't really get a straight overall answer to this. On an individual level I'd have to say no country is better than any other simply because value of life/living is determined by that individual. A country as a whole though, yeah, you could definitely say one is superior to another from plenty of standpoints.

I think everyone complains at some point no matter where they live. I wouldn't say it's a bad thing as long as one realizes just how blessed they are to have the basic needs. (shelter/water for example)

Complaining is the only thing that keeps me safe from going insane, so please don't take it away from me.

I had an actual explanation, but that will suffice.

I'm sad this country still gives people reason to feel that way. I want my country to be better than that. Of course the current government doesn't help.

I find it sad that the people who lived there before them and have every right to be treated the same are instead treated as if they're inferior. It reminds me of Code Geass with the attitude towards the Japanese.

I don't get your question, obviously we are attracted to other countries for the better living conditions they have.

I said this in a comment on a CR news article in the past (think it was something about Miyazaki and Charlie Hebdo) - but it was "You're the best critic of your own culture".

If you live in a country, you can understand the in's and out's of that country better than most - making you the ideal person to criticize it.

Like family - you can say things about your family that no one else can really say because you're a part of it. It's when people don't criticize their own country that you should worry, I think lol

Undying loyalty to a country is a bad thing to have. You should criticize your country if it does something wrong.

Oh yeah our government is the worst. Constantly trying to take away rights from us, and ugh. It's just sad honestly lol. You'd think since it's 2015 we'd at least get some sort of respect.
