Recently, I got hired to the local Hard Rock Cafe here in my area. It's such a mellow atmosphere, and I'm pretty excited. Although, it's not my first job to ever take up. It made me wonder though how others may think of their jobs, or especially their first one.

My first one was... alright. It was a family-owned beer mart, nothing too special. Just a lot of excessive labor, and a shaky foundation.

What was your reaction when you got your first job? Did you like and/or appreciate it? Hate it? Didn't mind it?

I wasn't too happy.
It was a small Mexican meat shop owned by two Pakistanis. It was an interesting experience but I wouldn't do it again.

My first paying job was as a tutor. I tutored in Mathematics. That's been a good 12 years or so but I enjoyed it. I had a lot more patience and tolerance back then so it was doable lol. Don't think I could deal with it now.

I've never had a job but i'm pretty certain I would have a negative response because I would have to leave my room

I was forced to work with my dad as a job early on. My first real job aside from that was Magic Wok when I was 15. I was pretty happy to get the job but that ended pretty quick. It was just terrible working for the one manager who always seemed to be there.

I suppose, due to my anxiety issues, my first (and subsequent) job(s) were attained because I went to the interview after taking my Xanax. Then they were lost because I continued to show up for work after taking TOO much xanax and acting like a drunk arse.

Congrats, though. I remember my first job (Barista at a coffee house) and I remember how excited I was to be hired. I actually did not mess tis job up with xanax (it was every job after that). Strangely, my first job was the job I held the longest, until I found a CAREER in freelance writing. I still remember it fondly, so enjoy it!

Food service, despite many peoples' opinions, is a very fun job. It's fast paced, not deadly serious (such as medical professions), and coworkers are usually very fun to be around (in my experience). I hate when people complain about food service jobs. Here in Philadelphia, waiters make more money than many people who are starting their careers with college degrees. Enjoy it!

Which hard rock are you working at?

My first job was at a pet bakery/grooming salon. I was/am the baker (I still work there.. it's been 3.5 years now). I just went to volunteer for school hours but they offered me a job. I've held a lot of other jobs along with this one but I've kept it and I love it so much.

Lol. I always think of the scene when he WIGS out at his neighbor's school when he takes a trip there alone to see if he has a girlfriend. He sits in the class and freaks the F*** out and runs away hahaha.

I had to get a childs working permit when i decided i needed to work. My job was terrible but it was a steady paycheck. My parents had lost their jobs and i have a brother 5 years younger than me that needed school supplies/lunch money. I worked with people i knew somewhat (nice people) but i was stressed with the job and at home...so my first job experience wasn't very great.

I did and still do appreciate them allowing me to work, the experiences (good and bad) and self satisfaction from being able to bring a paycheck home to my family.

I will never work in the food service again but because of the experience i gained...I was able to get a job at a nursing home (starting out as a kitchen aide) and clawed my way up the ladder. I'm hoping to start classes in restorative nursing soon!

my first job was when I was in middle school and I was an after school teacher's aide.

I just made copies, work packets for the students, grade papers, tidy up the classroom, etc.

I got $10 a week, I know it wasn't much but it was something. she was a brand new teacher and needed help with a lot of stuff lol.
