If you need somebody to tell you not to do it okay.Don't do it.

TBH I've though of suicide a lot, there is always the lingering fear though. The fear of death, of nothingness which makes me not want to do it.
Death is a scary thing. Being nothing, we can barely comprehend nothing. It's fear, I guess.

I don't really understand your question either, but I can understand where you're coming from too.

I've been dealing with the same thoughts for some years now and I always thought of killing myself but was never actually able to do it, until one day I decided to just overdose on Tylenol and well .. let's say that I'm still here but didn't end that well.

Let's just say that I'm on recovery and currently taking medications, which from time to time idk if they're working or not because sometimes I still get those ideas of wanting to end my life, but I try to keep my brain busy while doing something else. It is hard to overcome but it's something that we are capable of doing.

Suicide is not something that you do because you think about it a lot, it is the LAST thing someone does because they have very bad depression. A person who's got depression is sick.. and I really didn't believe that till it happen to me. After being on medications for like almost two years I am starting to understand how my mental state wasn't normal. Looking back I am glad my snooping neighbour called the cops on me.

FIRST: This is NOT a light subject and I wish more people who responded had encouraged the author of the thread to seek actual professional support. I am surprised to see so many responses without actual encouragement to seek help or answers from people with more knowledge.

Why not just strive to do something really cool like the creators, owners and employees of Crunchyroll? If a person is here then they must love anime, manga and other things. So, in the spirit of being on a website that you like, why not channel POSITIVE energy into figuring out how to ENJOY life MORE? I think that suicide prevention for people should involve them discovering SELF-WORTH.

This very website is a site that holds so much pleasure and entertainment. I am sad to know that one of my fellow Crunchrollers has to wonder about suicide. I know that that is easier said than done for some, but I encourage people to find that thing that they love and just enjoy it. Dig into it and just cover yourself with it. Put your energies towards enjoyment instead of negativity and death.

Also, my whole opinion is why not just ride out life? Why not just let natural death or whatever kills you be the thing that takes you away? It's going to happen eventually, so you might as well stick around and wait for it.

I think chemical imbalances and brain chemistry are responsible for people's suicidal thoughts. I think in those cases, there may be medication that can really help. I don't like medicine, but I feel that psychiatric medicine for depression can help people.

When it comes to myself and my thoughts.
Its not so much a conscious choice for me.
I've had multiple unsuccessful suicide attempts, to the point I was put into a mental hospital.

Its like someone kept telling me I have to do this.
That everyone would be happier if I was just out of their lives.
Sadly its hard not to listen to your own thoughts.

And its hard to try and focus on other things.
Even with therapy and medications I can't help but have the thoughts.

Though eventually things get to the point its bearable.

I've thought of suicide just ONCE, and it was stupid (Bad grades and I had tons of reports in school)...
But after that, suicide never came to mind ever again, and I hope it never does!
I am a little bit interested in death though, I would like to see what happens after you die lol
I'll wait for the right time to explore that new horizon

As someone who nearly commited suicide but was talked out of it well....usually rationality goes you get sick of being strong for years on end and just want the pain to stop.

Even after you choose not to the pain still stays and never goes its no surprise to me people commit suicide because the pain that leads one to that is a pain worse then death.

In the end suicide is not right nor is it wrong its a choice but before you go to that choice i recommend looking for help in proffesionals or from friends.

If anyone is suicidal and needs someone to talk to i'm here and will talk to you

The best advice I can give is to seek professional help if you have those thoughts because these feelings often will pass and things will get better (and you might be very glad you did).

I could not killvmyself, not now. In fact, what I truly fear is dying. I want to achieve so much and will not stop fighting until I do. I also want to live life, how could I possibly want to die without having lived

A few years ago, I was going through some real rough family stuff, so I dried to attempt suicide with pills. Lucky for me, the handful I grabbed were Zoloft, which apparently you can't OD on ( if I grabbed any other bottle, I could have died). I didn't know that at first, so once I realized what I just did, the panic and fear started to set it. This made me see that dying is well, never a release, and whatever you may be living through can never compare to the horror of thinking you are going to die. So, I thought about what I should do, and came to this:

Don't live for yourself, and don't die for yourself.

I realized that even though my existence was a complete waste, the very least I could do was protect my younger sibling (still very young). So, it's fine that I give up on myself, but I won't waste my life and hurt the people who care about me. And, if my life can one day be used to save someone else, I won't hesitate at the chance.

Or is this feeling just being projected to your conscious but your subconscious doesn't feel it at all?

Do you want to die or this just hypothetical question ? I had deal with people who have try to kill them self-before. I feel that every one here will be able to answer your question a lot better if we knew what you meant. And can you elaborate a bit more ? I think I understand what you are asking but because you are saying it in a vague way, I not sure how to answer you dear.

"How do you really know if you want to die?" I hope that question is easier to understand. Well, it's not hypothetical. My personal life is kind of a mess.

I'll add another question of mine to this thread as a response to some of the posts here: What IF there was no one who really cared about you and your life? Those people you interacted with were just acquaintances and they wouldn't be too sad if you disappeared. They'd just go "That's life". Online friends wouldn't be too sad, either, I think. Befriending someone in real life has a much bigger impact than it has on the internet.

What if your parents were against one of the ideals you so hardly want to achieve? They can't understand and don't want to. Not being able to achieve this ideal makes you feel suicidal and your family, that should be a group of people who love you the way you really are, just makes it harder for you. They won't be feeling bad if you just decide to end your life. This sounds pretty vague, so let's say this ideal is being able to live a life the way you really are. Having friends, a relationship and support even though you're different, let's say homosexual.

Not sure if I should add those two to the first post. Should I?

I had going trough a lot of fuck up shit myself, to the point that my counselor think I have develop some kind of PTSD.

I not going to tell you not to do something but I think you need to talk with a counselor. I not saying that you go and tell him you want to die. I saying talk to him about your problems. Do you have a friend that you trusts ? If so talk to that friend about your problems. If you want to die but don't have the gut to do it. That because you have a reason not to die, otherwise you already would have done so. Listing I know I may sound like a broken record but life will get better. Why do you want to die ? You don't have to answer that question but may help people understand you a lot better.
