I've been wanting to check out the works of legendary manga and anime creator Leiji Matsumoto for some time now, but I'm not sure where to start, the obvious spot seems to be with the Captain Harlock, but there are so many incarnations movies and series' that I'm not sure where to start with even that. Plus I've heard great things about Queen Millennia too. Which one of these (or others) is the best introduction to the Leijiverse? (I've already seen the Galaxy Express movie, but it was a while ago)

That's a pretty cool start, but I'd like something a bit more specific (seeing as there are many iterations of Captain Harlock, and many different way to watch 999)
