"Sorry DDOS" may be a legitimate excuse for a fan site being down for 48 hours but its not for a paid service. We expect the service we pay for!

I think the worst part is Crunchyroll has not made an announcement. Like everyone is saying, this is a paid service, you can at least give us an update. If it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't know that Crunchyroll was DDOS attacked.

I agree. This is unacceptable. If the Manga site is still down by tomorrow, I'm canceling my service.

I would like to hear SOMETHING, anything, from Crunchyroll about this ongoing issue with the Manga.

It has been 48+ hours that the Manga has been down. I love Crunchyroll and I am a dedicated subscriber. That being said, Crunchyroll, you owe us an explanation or at least an update on the situation. Anime is streaming fine so I am not exactly sure what the issue is.

Perhaps Crunchyroll was having server issues with the high demand of the new simulcasts so it was decided to shut down the Manga portion of the site as to relieve some of the burdens on their servers.

For real though, can we get some COMMUNICATION, Crunchyroll? Okay, cool, thanks.

I'm not able to view Manga on my iPad iOS 10.1.1
Got nothing yesterday Jan 10 2017. Today the app loads but content does not.

I got the error "the data cannot be read because it is in the incorrect format" on the main screen of the iPad app (running iOS 10.2.1 beta), though the favorites screen works so I was able to read all my Simulpubs.

I see the thumbnails for my bookmarks n the favorites page, (without any title or chapter data). when I click on the thumbnail I get the "the data cannot be read because it is in the incorrect format" message.

Good thing I got my Simulpubs in, cause now I got a network error, force quit the app, and upon trying to login, getting an error 400. Even worse, none of the chapters I tried are loading in the flash player!

(Also had trouble posting this, so it's not just manga again)

This has been going on way to damn long. The iPhone app keeps saying "Could not connect to the server. Please check your network connection." I've been seeing this for more than 48 hours, and it shows up even when the manga pages load online. Those that got in when stuff was active, you're the lucky ones.

Yeah it's still happening, the app doesn't load content and the bookmarks have the error message if you try to open them, but the favourited content will allow you read it. The web site version is working but you can't add a favourite from there.
I am sorely disappointed in the lack of communication, and even the updating I mean you can see the weekly schedule of anime shows and the line ups but if you do the same for the mange it hasn't been updated since 2014.
For the love of all that is holy fix this shit Crunchy or you are gonna lose a lot of people.

Well guys i got a reply to an email today about the manga app I asked,

a) what went wrong
b) when it's gonna be repaired
c) why don't you guys tell us about this and if you do where am I meant to find it.

The answer i received from Ryo in Customer Service was,

I realised that my questions werent answered so i replied with,

Hello, thank you for the reply but you still didn't really answer my questions?
I know your working on it, do you have an estimated time for completion Tuesday week, 4 weeks from now, the 12th of never?
And why didn't you guys send us a message or have a place that keeps us updated of the fact that it
A) went down for whatever reason ( you also didn't answer that)
B ) when it'll get fixed.
Surely it'd be easier to have a page even on the forum telling us how things are progressing than each individual paying and non paying member email you separately.

Ryo replied with,

Unfortunately we have no estimated time.

Our engineers a re providing a fix so this will hopefully not happen again.

I, too, received this reply. Twice. 3 months apart. We know that they are fighting with the usability of "Flash". We all know that they should just get over it. Other Apps have solved this problem by going to HTML 5 or some such. Get some code monkeys and a supply of caffeine and rewrite the cursed thing.

I also find the responses to be lacking in the stuff answers are made of.

Had to restore both my iPad and iPhone from an iCloud backup today and discovered the manga app now shows the main screen. No errors with bookmarks either. Really should not have to go through that to make the app work though.

The web reader for manga constantly crash between 22h and 2h EST almost everyday. Well all the manga section seems to be down around that time.
