So I want to know what you guys have watched that has left an impact on you. For example, something that changed the way you think, or made you have a certain feeling or whatever else may have impacted you.

For me, most recently this is Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. I can't quite seem to explain why, but after finishing it I feel strange seeing things related to it, as if my heart is skipping a beat or I just get really happy. It's been on my mind a lot and I can't stop thinking about it!
Another one would probably be Angel Beats!, especially for the first month after I finished it. I would sit in class and remember a certain scene and start tearing up. To be honest, I still do..

Well, what about you guys? What anime has left an impact on you?

I know for a fact that the most impact an anime has had on me was Shigatsu wa kimi no Uso. Being a pianist with feelings similar to Arima's, even the situation of Kaori-chan, it really made me happy watching it. I was dealing with serious depression at the time and this anime was my solace. It really helped me. After every episode I would sat down at my keyboard and practice for hours. This anime really kepy me going. I have to say it's my absolute favourite anime in existence. After watching this anime I cried for a bit and then felt strangely happy it was over. Sad of course, but at peace. It changed my outlook on the world and even to this day I still play the OP and ED on my piano. Every time I do I can't help but be overwhelemd with joy.

Gunslinger Girl. Still feel depressed when I think about it, and I watched it years ago (though only recently finished the manga - it's a harsh one, all right).
More recently, Death Parade. That ice skating scene...

Same with me regarding Gunslinger Girl. It shocked, saddened and depressed me when I first watched it. It was the first time I ever had an anime wring out so many emotions watching it. It hits home further when you think "What if my kids were in that situation?"

Most recently it was Your Lie in April which saddened me and uplifted me no end.

Shigatsu wa kimi no Uso for me.

Arima's story basically left a huge impact on me because I realized that although they were metaphors it has a connection with the real world. Arima is a pianist that can't hear his music and is being guided by the girl he loves. But as the story develops the heart wrenching truth beings to unfold. "Look up" Arima looks down on the world as he see's black and white. It made me think about depression and made me thought "What if I was in that situation?" I broke down after that question and realized I needed to look up for on the world. Your lie in April makes my heart ache every time I hear it's name.

Clannad: After Story : Not just because it made me cry, but more importantly when I first watched this show it reinforced that I wanted to be a parent.

Usagi Drop: I'd never seen anything like this before: a sweet show about a single man and his adopted daughter, but without any unnecessary slap-stick or "Mr. Mom" comedy. It made me smile, but it also hooked me on the idea that anime/manga have something to offer that you don't often see in American TV or movies.

Tokyo Godfathers (movie): I'm still a little shocked that the best Christmas movie I'd ever seen--and the one that's most true to Christian values-- is anime.

Dragon Ball Z cause after watching that anime I got in to karate when I never really was into that stuff, now I been at it for 13 years, competed in over 100 of tournaments, champion 7 times, 3rd degree black belt and learned how to keep me my family and friend safe due to the self defense.. Before DBZ it was something I never even thought I do and what would come out of it and its been a impacted on me

Welcome to the NHK and Golden Time were both very influential series on me as an individual and really challenged my way of thinking about life, albeit in different ways. I think they really just served as a reminder that yes, I can do things with my life. I found them both to be oddly motivational in that sense.

I still haven't done much, but I'm getting there.

Fullmetal Alchemist. I haven't seen a personal relationship in anime with as much depth and warmth as that between the Elrics nor have I seen a coming-of-age transformation as convincing as Edward's since.
