New to CR and like it a lot. Wondering what other sites people like for good anime. My second favorite site is Hulu due to the big library selection. Amazon and Netflixs need help not very good yet

Funimation is another site like CR which is legal and supports the industry. They have dubbed and subbed anime for streaming. They have flexible subscription plans, too. What I mean is, you can pay for their all-access plans, or pay for subbed anime only, which are cheaper. For either one, you choose either 1-month, 3-months, or 12-months. It auto-renews like CR, just to let you know. If you don't want to renew your subscription for a period of time/permanently and don't opt out before the renewal date, they'll automatically recharge your card.

But yeah, I just signed up for 3 months of subbed anime, and it was something like $12.95. Pretty low fee to be able to watch some animes you want to watch.

I use Netflix every so often. I marathoned Noragami today and it was excellent. Netflix also has a decent collection of dubbed anime. It's nice when I am cooking and want to listen to/watch anime while I am cooking. I've had a Funimation account for a couple years now but just paid for my first paid subscription. I've stayed away from the site this long because it is so poorly designed. It's a pain to navigate and is one of the most inconvenient and poorly designed websites from a large company that I have used. CR is way better, but Funimation has a lot of series available for viewing without ads that CR doesn't have. CR is always going to be my go to for anime, but I think I'll pick up a year subscription to Funimation as well. The convenience of being able to watch all those shows legally while supporting the industry would be nice, even if the website is junk.

Edited to remove illegal site name & description ♥

Hulu is another source with a great selection of anime, but there are ads. Crappy ads. The same ads. Every damn time. The site is well constructed, but there are a lot of ads, and I hate ads. Unfortunately, it seems like the revenue they pull in from ads and paid subscribers willing to pay for a wider selection of shows is more than what they would make if they ditched the ads for paid subscribers. They do have a lot of shows, but between CR, Funimation, and Kissanime-->Rightstuf, I am good. Hulu doesn't need my money, and I won't pay for ads.

I mostly use Netlfix for RvB but I've marathoned a lot of anime that FUNimation adds there since they usually have the dubs and I'm not a premium on FUNimation like I am here, that may change as I am have a summer job though. Other than that, I use FUNimation's wesbite itself, though I hate it, and official channels on YouTube. Very very very rarely will I use illegals. I also make sure I get the weekly dose of Toonami

Am I allowed to share illegal sites?

Edit : Answer - no, edited to remove illegal site <3

Crunchyroll is the only free legal anime site that is worth even attempting to watch shows on that I know of.

The Anime Network now has their Roku app available.

Press release:
http://www.theanimenetwork.com/20150212731/roku-channel-press-release

Roku channel store listing:
https://www.roku.com/channels#!details/46511/anime-network

It should be noted that based on the message I received when installing it from the Channel Store, it apparently isn't compatible with the older Roku units.

Free viewing gives you only the first subtitled episode of any series. (You can see all the episodes listed, but selecting anything else will prompt you to log in or start a free trial). On the upside, those first episodes appear to be ad-free and available in HD.

The app also has a setting to select whether to present titles in HD or SD (the latter being useful for the bandwidth-constrained), a toggle to have episodes auto play or not, and an easy to use queue function.

Frankly, if CR's HD-enabled version of the Roku app had been like this (aside from the limited free viewing option, of course), I doubt there would have been many complaints.

I also use Funimation, but I find it isn't as organized as Crunchyroll? Same for their app, hard to navigate.
