For a better explanation of how we can know that (for example) curses aren't real than I can give, see http://xkcd.com/808/ .

Basically, if curses were real, people would have kept using them more and more, with people dying of curses about the same amount as people currently die of guns. If curses had suddenly started working, say, 20 years ago, you'd have someone who tried to curse someone and it succeeded, and a few other people find out; so they try, and it works, and for each one a few others find out, and before you know it it's common knowledge, and there's laws trying to control the ability to purchase any materials necessary (if any) to curse someone, and police trying to figure out a way to identify the caster of a curse, and on the news there's reports of deaths by curses every few days, and the military is looking into weaponizing curses. If curses had worked since the beginning of time, the same scenario would've played out back at the dawn of the human race, and curses would be common knowledge by now and a part of every serious military alongside the army, navy, and air force. But in fact, the world isn't like that; because when someone like you thinks they cursed someone and it worked, because the target coincidentally (almost) died right after, that person is just mistaken, and anyone who hears it and is brave enough -- or angry enough -- to try cursing someone else, doesn't succeed, because curses aren't real. And since that's been happening since the dawn of the human race, humanity in general has figured out that it doesn't work.

This is actually a rather complicated topic.
Mainly it's complicated because it's impossible to do a double blind study on this. However we have 7000 years of circumstantial evidence, so it is "real" enough for practitioners.
Note: Most occultists don't want to touch curses or love spells with a ten foot pole, therefore this is all theory.

The way most Modern occultists explain magick is as "Will" (or Thelema if you are being fancy). There's been a metaphysical question of whether mind or will can influence matter since at least Plato. Jeremy Crow gave what I think is the most grounded proof that will can influence matter; Try moving something near you with the power of your will? Mine used my arm to do it. This may seem to be stating the obvious but your mind can direct at least some matter.
Now, think about your personal space. You know how sometimes you can tell someone's in it without any other sense telling you, or you can feel someone's gaze? Well that would, to us, be the area that your will can influence. Your will reaches out to touch things around it, and in some cases searches out other people. It reforms into strings tying people together, or an expanding bubble to keep unwanted energy away. Things like that.
Its influence outside of your body (Which you can think of as saturated with Will) is extremely weak normally. Just strong enough, if sufficiently re-enforced, to set off a butterfly effect.

Re-enforcing your will takes the form, most often of ritual. Many Occultists need their rituals to be EXACT in order to make them work, because they have convinced themselves that the words/incense/candles/costumes/fasting/self harm/sacrifices are the things that have power. These things have little power, apart from the ability to let you tune into your own focus. The spell you found on the internet wasn't anything more than a poem. That little mantra you had going there, however, changed the energy you were putting into the universe, morphing it into something fearsome, and tied it to the unfortunate victim. Put a different way, you were giving him steady doses of negativity.

Most cultures have an "Evil Eye" equivalent. These I would argue are not the same as what you did. Evil Eyes are usually recognized by the victim, and the caster usually has no idea they have done anything. They are often simply the "victim" noticing that they were once prosperous and then must lose things occasionally (no magick here, just entitlement).

The fact that you thought to use a ritual places this in a category of directed intent. That scares me a bit on your behalf. It's really common to say that "All magic comes at a price" and things like that. However that's a slightly immature way of thinking about it. Essentially, what magick does is shift negative parts of your life into arenas you can work in. This is why healers can't usually heal themselves. In your case, you felt there was an injustice that needed to be addressed to restore balance within yourself. Where that went wrong is that you set the imbalance off in a different direction.

Most cultures I've seen with curses have rather sinister warnings surrounding them. For example the Wiccan threefold law: that what you send out you will receive three times as strongly. As such, with as much love as I can pack into a text based message, I say please rethink the moral of this story. That you know the power of your unrestrained thoughts, and that you have learned it by incurring such a fee, means that you, for your own sake as well as those around you, would be well served by striving to protect others; and increasing the positive energy that you have given to the world. Do this with the same passion, and intent, that you used to curse and you will be absolutely stunning.

And if the curses turn out to not be real, then you'll still have the Spiritual/community benefits that you have created.
Goodluck and Blessed Be

One time, I got mad at a student for pushing me... I was 12.

I was extremely angry cause he made me look like a wimp, My rage was intense. Imagine this going through your head for several hours on repeat... that was me the entire day

All day long thoughts like that echoes loudly through my head. I grit my teeth and my face turned red as i hyperventilated. I went online and looked up some black magic spells. I cast a death spell on him. and hoped it would kill him. I tried to put as much faith as I could, thinking if I believe in it, it may work...
Well, within a few days or maybe a week or 2 later.. his gall bladder erupted and he was sent to the hospital. When I first heard the news, I reveled in joy. I jumped up and down.. the intense rage became intense joy. I'd think about it all the time, excited like, "YES!!! the spell worked.. it worked. That piece of shit got what was coming."

As the days went by, the condition got worse, and apparently the doctors made some mistakes which made his life in danger. They were talking about how he might not make it. I was eagerly awaiting the news, hoping he would die. However, he didn't... Eventually, I felt incredibly bad for all the other students and felt guilty. I prayed that my spell would cease. I realized that when you kill people... it's bad.
Killing is bad.... You shouldn't kill because when you kill people, it makes people sad. And that isn't' nice. I felt bad about wanting him to die and felt guilty if my death spell killed him. However, as I began feeling this way, he made it out alive.

In other words, I was a typical 12 year old.
But I learned a lot. I used to think that only people I liked deserved to live, and that killing others is okay if I don't like them. But I learned that even if I don't like someone, they don't' deserve to die. I mean.. have I ever went on this forum ranting about how someone should di-... oh... well...

Basically... you think something like that was just a coincidence?
Either way, this story contains a good moral
Do NOT piss me off

I'll piss you off if I want, you're not my dad.

Besides this thread should be dead, the OP got banned.

P.S.

Oh and if you are still able to read the forums just not post then I'll tell you this. If you get so angry at a school bully that you want him DEAD, you're pathetic. Do what normal people do when others piss us off; go home and fap then call it a night.

If you want to test a spell of a curse, then have you ever heard of the Sachiko Ever After Charm? By doing this charm, you can have Sachiko, a lost spirit, grant you eternal friendship with whoever you do the charm with. To do it, you have to have at least 2 people and no more than 10.

You draw and cut out a paper doll proxy of a human, something like this

Then you put the paper proxy between you and your friends and grab onto a side of it with your fingers. Make sure to really dig your fingers into it.

Once everyone is holding a side of the proxy, each of you must say this line once:

"Sachiko, we beg of you"

Do not say it at the same time. Make sure not to say it more than once and make sure you actually say it. The number of times this line is said should equal the number of people there.

Then, once you've finished chanting the line exactly once per person, you tear apart the proxy doll by pulling in opposite directions, one fragment per person. It is critical that you hold onto that paper fragment no matter what.

And that's how you do the charm.

If you do this charm wrong, however, there will be dark consequences.
