I always think the books are better than the movies but lets see what other people think.....some examples include:

Harry Potters
Eragon
Series Of Unfortunate Events
Etc.

Post your favourite books turned into movies ALSO! and tell me which you think was better!

THE BOOK OR THE MOVIE!

if you need to ask this you haven't read the books.

for example

harry potter books, lord of the rings, narnia, jurassic park, the matrix, pretty much any anime that has a manga.

it literally comes down to the fact people have become lazy and dont wanna read. they would rather watch the moving picture with sound than use their own imaginations.

yeah they do, but in animes's case they add more storyline that is fucking retarded and useless.

Umm. hmm I belive when a person reads a book they put a part of them in the story line the reader is able to personify and relate the character more vividly in a wider range and in a deeper aspect by use of the imagination you are able to travel the universe and the cosmos and see things that are unimaginable and detailed "you sometimes feel you are living that moment, or experincing the emotions of the character". Movies i feel toss out as much feelling and emotion as they can at the viewer for 2-3 hours often leaving the person to want more, or feeling as if the story and plot was missing or lacking more detail but in the end movies are a great way to tell a story and makes it easyer for a person to visualize what they are feeling wheather its pain from a love story or euphoria from the action

Personaly i enjoy both Peace/Love

I'm pretty sure there's a thread about it already but I can't find it or I may be mistaken. In any case that it is found, the usual protocols can just be followed.

Now for the thread, I personally think books are generally better than their movie counterparts. Books do not constrain your imagination whereas movies dictate what you see and hear. Movies tend to deviate from the books and thus alter content which may influence intended effects whether it is small or large. Sometimes movies even sway away from the original text found in books. People generally prefer movies over books these days because movies are usually simplified (in conjunction with deviation from books) and it is all too often less time consuming than reading a book. Time is quite precious these days and people simply do not have the time to pick up a book and read. For those who find this luxury a blessing, then good for them and I envy them.

books are definitely better than movies....they create a better illusion (at least that's what I think) than movies could ever do =]

maybe you should read some books?

the books are always better. movies never do them justice for time constraint reasons or just being changed in ridiculous ways. like lord of the rings.
