Does anyone have any particular quotes or sayings or proverbs that you really like, that you never seem to actually heed?

One in particular for me is: "Can you seize the day?"
I personally feel that it's really important to take each day head on and do the best that you can do that day. That it's a really good day when you can look back on it and feel that not only did you actually accomplish something, but that you should be able to start the next day from an even better position.
Despite that, I usually spend the entire day procrastinating. Everyday in fact. I seem to be living the complete opposite of my ideal, which is rather upsetting. Anyone else have any similar experiences?

I'm not super religious but I, and billions of other people, find something in this--

Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil
For you are with me

Not that you want this to become a debate, but I don't like that saying because it belittles human achievement. It was your will and strength that got you through whatever it was you were struggling with....

I'm not religious at all. I go with -

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I'm totally awesome so whatever.

One I actually abide by, though...

If you threaten someone, be prepared to follow it through.

"Better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it."

I take it to mean mainly that opinions should be kept to oneself, but I like to express my views. Some will think I'm foolish for my opinions, some may think I'm evil for some, but I would rather be open about who I am and what I stand for.

"Is fearr Gaeilge briste, ná Béarla clíste."

Don't have much chance to speak Irish, but I don't take the chance to meet people who speak it, either... I could probably have basic conversations in it, but I would be too embarrassed of any mistakes. I should toughen up, though.
