Has anyone ever been through that phase where you just did everything Asian?

-Eating noodles for snacks
-Watching a lot of Asian dramas
-Listening to a lot of Asian music
-Having the Asian hairstyle
-Hanging out with a bunch of Asians
-Taking pictures with the peace sign
-Etc

I've done half of these things by default, well cuz I didn't really have a lot of choices. I always watched Thai and Chinese dramas with my mom when I was younger, and she made the same thing for dinner every damn day. But, it's kind of funny to admit, but I went through that "Proud to be Asian" or "Azn Pride ^_^" phase a few years ago. Some people are like that now, and that's not a bad thing. It's just that I had way too much pride in my genes and kept referring myself as an Asian that I wasn't really patriotic with my origins.

FYI, you're not required to be Asian to do these things lol.

Yeah I went through a pretty rough weaboo phase in my early teens, for now I just stick to just anime. Seriously, I believed I was Asian--specifically JAPANESE, wanted to move to Japan although I barely knew the language, culture, etc. (I'm not even Asian.) I'd also yell out random basic Japanese words such as "kawaii, itadakemasu, ganbare, watashi wa..., DESU" I think you got the general idea.
It's pretty embarrassing. Does that count?

I've been there. It was really bad in middle school and early high school. I'm still a huge fan of anime now though, just not as much of a Japan nerd.

-Started learning Japanese
-Listened to Jrock/Jpop
-Watched exclusively anime
-Pretty much all friends I hungout with were asian

Sorta just ended, most new friends were Japanese exchange students here for just the year and I've relaxed and haven't done much of anything since exams ended.

Reflecting back to my middle school years is hilarious, yet cringe-worthy. I did have a minor "asian-pride/filipino pride" phase. I can only imagine how annoying I was back then. Ew, I was beaming with asian pride.

I'm asian, so I was bound to find a group of asian friends at some point of my young life.
I never found asian dramas appealing. The romances always go in this format: two young kids -> They fall in love -> Something tragic happens -> Crying ensues -> Everyone is happy again.
I don't like using peace signs in pictures, so there's that.

I don't think it's really a problem to the following above as long as you don't glorify it.

It IS a problem if you NOT Asian or in this matter Southeastern Asian or Chinese or Japanese of any sort and you wished to be Japanese.

I did have a problem for some time I guess, I didn't speak broken Japanese but I had a habit of only speaking it because I took classes, had Japanese friends, and my grandma spoke it. I was made fun about it for quite often because I wasn't Japanese and was told to shut up, but I was proficiently fluent (I could talk about basic sciences and cooking as an example) and wasn't screaming kawaii and sugoi everywhere. So then I forgot how to speak quite a bit of Japanese which really bugged me. It's okay to be proud of who you are but just don't advertise it like a fool or use it for biased reasons.

If you ARE Asian AND had that username on Xanga that looked like this xxAznNoodleKidxx
It's okay you were probably in middle school and finding our self identity without rejecting our culture was kinda difficult.

And if you haven't got the hint yes I am Chinese. Politically Taiwanese and will never give a shit about not being Japanese.

i am duh azn too (malaysian chinese)!!!! I did for a little while years ago like about chinese stuff and I've always been a bit of a weeaboo. I still act pretty weeaboo right now, but I do it ironically. But it might be post-ironic now, I dunno. My whole personality is a joke lol.

Back in high school I hella was. But I wasn't making a big deal of it. All the different Asians were really kind and nice. My closest friends still say i'm Asian tho.

Haha most of my asian friends consider me more asian than them, always been a big fan of the culture in general but there is something about anime that exponentially increases your asianess.
