My profile is definitely the window to my "Soul". jk, but really you can learn a lot about my interests from my profile. Plus, I use the same username and profile pic on most other social medias like Youtube, google+, and twitter. So from all those you can find out a lot about who I am, but not nearly everything.

Meh, the only thing you understand about me from my profile is normally my interests. You know who I am based on my forum posts, but even then they are not a good representation of me as a person.

I'm more outspoken on the internet, in person im very non confrontational and I avoid arguments. The only time I get into confrontations is if I see someone being hurt or bullied and so on.

My profile won't really tell you much since I keep my About Me section blank. Of course you can draw a vague assumption based on my interests/hobbies etc., but even then it's not really going to give you a good picture. People can be whatever they want on the internet, as I'm sure we're all aware. Some people though will actually have their profiles reflect them honestly. For me personally, I don't care for putting up a front or image. What you see is what you get with me. I'm a brutally honest person and don't really care how things I say are taken so don't ask if you don't really want to know lol.

As a few others stated, what they say and their actions will tell you much more than their profile. It's basically like judging a book by its cover rather than its contents.

Hardly, I have a picture of a stripper bunny on my profile. Wtf is that suppose to tell?

mine doesn't really say much about me... guess that just means there isn't much to me or something lol

Hm, I personally look at it like viewing what type of aesthetic a person likes. They're not going to use something that looks bad to them - they're going to a create a profile that appeals to them aesthetically in themes, format, text, etc. That's in addition to its purpose of communicating information to a visitor.

Do I think it says a lot about them? Maybe? I look at it more like clothes and fashion - it's how you present yourself.

As for me, I don't really think my profile reflects that much about me (aside from what I specifically write to tell a bit about me), but I think it does say a bit about my aesthetic tastes. There's a significant portion of my life that's utterly missing from my profile - partially because I come here to escape that aspect, so it's not very true to myself in that sense, i'd say.

Hi, I'm Kosaki Onodera, and I secretly love Raku Ichijo.
He's so cool and handsome, and I've loved him since a very long time.
However, my love towards him always gets interrupted by other girls such as Chitoge, Marika, and Tsugumi.
I have heard a lot of people say that Ichijo and I make the best couple. I think so too.

If you think I am the best partner for Ichijo, please support me every Friday at a new episode of Nisekoi with the hashtag #TeamOnodera
Thank you all.

For all the forgery that happens on the internet, you can get a pretty solid idea of a person based off an internet profile.

I said to someone my profile is unique to me, and I try and put my own "personality" to it even if it's just a webpage that has no real connection to anything. As time goes on we see these as much more than that.

Twitter, Facebook, all those, the same idea, even more actually. It's an extension of the person.

I think as time goes on, a person's internet profile is more and more of a way to see who a person really is, for better or worse.

Even behind the screen, we're still the same.

This some one is me isn't it?

You can tell a lot about a person only if they're honest on their profile and don't change it.

Basically it's the same concept as how do you act on the internet vs how you act in real life, type.

I never did get why some people never change their profiles around, if you're only here for anime thats one thing but those people that regularly play the forum games or chat i would think they would change it every so often even if it's only like 2-3x a year or some such.

In real life, a person would look away, or shrug their shoulders and say, 'who knows?', or just stare blankly, while nodding their head, when someone else says something they don't believe in or don't agree with. Inside, that person is thinking, 'what a loser', or 'I hate people like that', or 'burn in hell, scum bag!'

On the Internet, people say what they're thinking inside. It ALL comes out. I say, the Internet IS the real life person.

However, when it comes to profiles? That's the same as looking at someone's exterior. The blank look, the looking away, the shrugged shoulder. You see the individual's likes and dislikes, and you see the kinds of friends he/she has, but in the end, you only see the outside. The inside doesn't show until you read what they have to say on forums like this. This is where you really know what someone is like.

Utter nonsense!

If you look at my Facebook-profile all you'll see is weed, comedy and boobs...

Ok maybe you've got a point...

(EDIT forgot to add the facebook part of profile..)

I stopped reading at boobs and clicked on your profile to look at your collection of boob pics.

It was blank!

Then I came back here and read the EDIT. I was like, "bummer..."

I don't think that you can always take someboy's profile as a good indicator of how that person really is. I doubt that someone could know much about me just reading my profile, for instance.

Well, I feel a slightly stronger attachment to the name I usually use on the internet (it isn't Schmooples, because somehow my usual username was taken), and I'd probably feel that Tuath is a better name for who I am than my actual given name. I don't know how much can be gathered about me from my profile, but definitely identify strongly with my internet personage.

I normally use the name TuathaDeDanann around internet communities, but it was taken here. It very rarely is... On the other hand, Schmooples is often taken, but it wasn't taken here. Strange.
