To me its worth it and inexpensive. Supporting the industry any way I can as a fan is an awesome feeling.

I think its worth it, without premium, I can't watch crunchyroll on my TV with its app. That alone for me makes it worth it.. I sit at a computer all day at work, being able to relax on the couch with some anime to wind down at night and get out of that computer chair is huge for me..

Hello buddy.
Look at your fansub webpage. Now back to Crunchyroll. Back to your regular fansub stream-site. NOW BACK TO CRUNCHYROLL. Sadly, it isn't Crunchyroll. But if it offered anime with no advertisements and in full HD it could be like Crunchyroll. Look down, back up, where are you? You're in the forums of a company that supports the anime industry. What were you doing in a pirate site then? Back at Crunchyroll. It's a lot of anime series. Look again. There is also manga. Anything is possible when you're a premium member of Crunchyroll and not a pirate.
I'm on a giant neko.

Crunchyroll The Official Source for Anime & Drama

Crunchyroll should hire you to advertise. lol Here take my money.

To OP: I think Crunchyroll is worth it. Even though my a free user the price and what's offered seems very reasonable. I'm a college student; who works part time, helps pay the family bills, and likes to have a social life; so I do need to save as much as I can. I don't mind the free service since I still get all the anime I want (even if I have to wait a week). If I can't get it on Cr chance might be I can watch it on Hulu. Between those two I have plenty of anime to keep me busy especially if I'm waiting a week for a new episode. I've come to use Crunchyroll more to talk to friends though since I've been doing that a lot more. It's really up to you if you want to pay or not. I personally don't mind the adds as I see them as chances for me to check messages I may have gotten and to reply to them.

the main reason I'm still on here is that I cannot stand Hulu's ads... if Hulu were to have a reasonably priced subscription that eliminated the ads and had better navigation (not a stupid tile based system) I'd probably switch over because there are very few exclusive series on Crunchyroll any more.

It could be worth it for those who watch Drama, read manga and if most of the shows were of my liking but since that's not the case and I don't watch/read Drama/manga, I prefer to watch anime from somewhere else.

after they included manga and drama in with their cheap deals, I can say it's worth it now - despite the fact that us Europeans get the short end of it. All I need now is the money.

I honestly think its worth it. Its nice being able to watch anime on my phone when I'm on the train or on my breaks at work. That alone right there sold me finally.

It's affordable and carries with it a good line up.

No it isn't worth it. If you can put up with the ads, you can watch anime on here for free. You can also watch anime on lots of other sites with less ads, and they have more choice. Crunchyroll doesn't have anywhere near as much anime as some other sites. On top of that, filling out bank details online can be dangerous and not very secure.

I know a lot of people say crunchyroll supports the anime industry, but let's be honest...no it doesn't. If anything it harms it. If you REALLY want to support the anime industry, buy the dvd's and keep hard copies alive.

Well I've been supporting CR for a while now, and I haven't got much money. But I do believe it is worth it if you're a big anime fan/love to shop online. sooo yah

I'm personally not ok with pirating and most free sites suck. Also, I would like to support the industry (imagine if you were an artist whose work was being enjoyed but not paid for.) So I think I'll give this a shot! Thanks for the opinions and advice y'all!!!

For just $6 you get ridiculous amount of content so definitely worth it. But if you can't even afford that much, how do you afford your lunch lol

If you watch as much as me, then it is definitely worth it.

Timely releases, a go to source for sure quality HD anime, and a huge back catalog of shows. It's pretty low cost and has almost all upcoming titles I'm interested.. I don't really see any alternative. Important to point out though is being in Canada, we lack some of the streaming sources that are available to the US.. still, it's pretty awesome.
