My wife has an issue where she couldn't sleep without me being in the same room.
I used to think that she's the only one with this problem but now one of her friends is sleeping in our guest room because she couldn't fall asleep with her husband out on a business trip! (apparently she only needs a non-empty house whereas my wife needs me, specifically, in the room)

Now I can't turn on my sound system to watch stuff because the guest room shares a wall with the living room!

Now I'm typing this question.

Anyone else couldn't fall asleep by themselves?

Well, I prefer to be alone and everything quiet when I sleep. (the small amounts that I do at least)

I can pretty much sleep anywhere and in any position. Cars are especially nice. (while in motion) Has she tried turning on the TV? I know a lot of people do that to sleep.

Good idea, that's what my dad used to do. Maybe I'll find a TV program "for her".

I have no issue sleeping alone....most of the time. My mom always scares the hell out of me when she pops out from the kitchen into my room.

I can't sleep without holding something at least. I have a few go-to comfort objects. Blankies and stuffed guys. I know it seems childish but I'm honestly not too mortified by it at this point. If it makes me sleep more soundly who is anyone to judge?

LOL. I love her too but I could still fall asleep by myself.
Maybe close your room door, then you'd at least hear someone coming in.

I have no issue sleeping alone, but I've heard of people that can't sleep without their partner.

she sounds sweet but i think she does have a bit of a problem in terms of sleeping habits.

I think something that will probably help you and her is Why not try recording yourself and giving her a podcast of it. So she can wear headphones and listen to ur voice as she sleeps. Maybe that might calm her and sooth her. Giving her a sense of you being near her in a wa,y or more like (right up her ear)lol Kinda like ASMR ,in a way i guess.

im the type that needs to sleep alone especially since im cold blooded cant deal with to much body heat. thats another reason i like sleeping alone. i can pretty much sleep anywhere if u give me the time to. i mean i dont mind sleeping with others it depends on those that sleep near me if they mind it. since im the type that moves alot and hugs things easily i can be on one side of the bed and then be draping my legs on you or end up and the other end of the bed. im a grabber . on occasion when i sleep over a friends i wake up to her pushin me off her. god im such a beast when i sleep so thats why i prefer to sleep by myself.

I really should broaden my social circle so l'd get to hear more about random stuff I shouldn't be surprised about.

Normally I can't sleep so well. Was dogsitting last weekend, couldn't stay awake. Dogsitting before, the same phenomenon, early to bed early to rise, naps when there aren't walks or backyard play.

Found Mushi-shi (homeowners have a Roku that I downloaded the crunchyroll app to, decided I really did not like Toriko, sorry Jump) and just binged on some of the best stories I've ever seen any time I could keep my eyes open.

But when the dogs weren't rowdy, everything got sleepy. Now back at home I feel sleepy but I have no feedback for that and my brain keeps firing like "you must be mistaken, you should stay up."

So hey, yeah, maybe I can't sleep alone so well.

Bye bye off-topic.

on-topic.
Personally I have no problems sleeping alone, or with someone next to me.
But I am one that can fall asleep pretty much everywhere except on airplanes for some reason.

That said, your mrs. is probably subconciously keeping herself awake when you're not at her side.
If you're a at home man that shouldn't be a big problem, but this is something only your wife and you can judge.
