she sounds sweet but i think she does have a bit of a problem in terms of sleeping habits.

I think something that will probably help you and her is Why not try recording yourself and giving her a podcast of it. So she can wear headphones and listen to ur voice as she sleeps. Maybe that might calm her and sooth her. Giving her a sense of you being near her in a wa,y or more like (right up her ear)lol Kinda like ASMR ,in a way i guess.

im the type that needs to sleep alone especially since im cold blooded cant deal with to much body heat. thats another reason i like sleeping alone. i can pretty much sleep anywhere if u give me the time to. i mean i dont mind sleeping with others it depends on those that sleep near me if they mind it. since im the type that moves alot and hugs things easily i can be on one side of the bed and then be draping my legs on you or end up and the other end of the bed. im a grabber . on occasion when i sleep over a friends i wake up to her pushin me off her. god im such a beast when i sleep so thats why i prefer to sleep by myself.

I think college students should record the professors who always put them to sleep, so that they could simultaneously resolve their insomnia and learn by nocturnal osmosis! Brilliant! Meanwhile, I'll record myself reading a history book for my wife in the first 10 or so minutes, transitioning to "helpful suggestions" for the rest

Yeah she used to do strange stuff in the middle of the night while sleeping like grabbing my hand and raising it up, or talking about something (once or twice I thought we were talking to each other until I realize she was still asleep!) but not anymore... which wasn't as bizarre as what I've heard from another couple, the wife of which sometimes sat up in the middle of the night and sang in her sleep before plopping down again- scaring the stuffing out of her husband

I don't sleep well anyway but if my partner isn't there I just don't sleep. I'll be tired sure but sleep never comes.

She went to London for 3 days with her friends a few years back and I felt like I was close to death by the time she came home. In 8 years we've had around 5 days apart, those 3 included, none of which I have slept. She doesn't fare much better.

I can sympathise.

That is brilliant, I can't believe I haven't tried this yet!

What the heck? rofl

For me it depends on the size of the place where I sleep. If it's a tiny apartment I can do fine but if it's like a four story house with multiple bedrooms then no... for some reason I get the heebie jeebies. This makes me wonder though, does this type of problem stem from some kind of traumatic experience or is it the result of overwhelming trust leading to dependency? Did your wife have this kind of problem prior to getting married?

this thread somehow makes me feel good about being single, sexy and free.

that kind of dependency is not something I would want.

I usually sleep with a cat by me, I can sleep alone but she tends to sleep with me

On the contrary, I can't sleep with anyone! sleepovers with friends are out of the question after the first and last time I went to one.

If I ever get married, I will ask for separate rooms.

I sleep better with the person I'm dating than I do by myself, but I can still sleep alone. Though I'll need to do that in the future when we get a place anyway since he changes shifts a lot. I'll have a lot of nights where he'll be working overnight and I'll need to be up in the morning haha.
