Can't sleep without my teddy bear still. Literal teddy bear. I've had it for as long as I can remember.

My wife has an issue where she couldn't sleep without me being in the same room.
I used to think that she's the only one with this problem but now one of her friends is sleeping in our guest room because she couldn't fall asleep with her husband out on a business trip! (apparently she only needs a non-empty house whereas my wife needs me, specifically, in the room)

Now I can't turn on my sound system to watch stuff because the guest room shares a wall with the living room!

Now I'm typing this question.

Anyone else couldn't fall asleep by themselves?

I wouldn't know, but I suggest if you want to watch TV while they sleep Buy a sound system and get high quality headphones.

I have a 7.1 sound system and headphones but I really would rather not use the headphone... Normally it'd be okay because wife sleeps almost the same time I do, but her friend needs to sleep super early since she has to drive to work at 4am.

Good thing her friend's husband is back from his business trip this weekend.

whenever my sister causes trouble and is downright annoying, we take her for a car ride, she's like 6 years ago. she falls straight asleep. it's so awesome and it works everytime.

I prefer to sleep alone. More space on the bed for me Also less noise and interruptions like getting slapped in the face by sleeping people

I don't have this problem, but I know people who do. It seems somewhat common with married couples.

My problem is more that, if I fall asleep cuddling with someone, I will subconsciously continue to cuddle them for the rest of the night. Even if it results in them being pushed to the far end of the bed in an attempt to escape the warmth of my cuddles.

I think I'm the complete opposite. I find it hard to fall asleep when somebody else is even in the room with me. Every time I sleep over at a friend's, even when we're not talking, all I can hear is them breathing and it's kinda distracting me from sleeping. Or if we're sleeping in the same bed, I can feel their body heat, which is also kinda irritating.

I dunno. I'm used to always sleeping alone, I guess.

I can usually just go to sleep by myself.I get kind of nervous when someone else is on the same bed as me.The reason is because I tend to either curl up in a ball, or cuddle with the person/thing that is next to me, that is why I tend to wake up with the covers in my arms and snuggled on my face, instead of over me.

I'm fine either way as long as I'm not trying to go to sleep early, the room is dark, and there are no neighbors having loud backyard parties nearby.

I don't sleep well anyway but if my partner isn't there I just don't sleep. I'll be tired sure but sleep never comes.

She went to London for 3 days with her friends a few years back and I felt like I was close to death by the time she came home. In 8 years we've had around 5 days apart, those 3 included, none of which I have slept. She doesn't fare much better.

I can sympathise.

Kinda ironic to me, since I can't stand sleeping near anyone

I guess if you get use to something it can be difficult when it changes, even temporarily.
Personally, no trouble sleeping alone, but then the only that shares my bed is a cat from time to time.

I don't think I've got quite the same problem, but I can't sleep without being able to talk to someone.

To elaborate, when I don't have access to my laptop when I'm in bed I feel really disconnected and unbearably lonely. After a while paranoia starts to sink in and I start remembering my childish fear of the dark! It's absurd, yeah, but I think the idea of having someone POSSIBLY there for you is really comforting and it helps me sleep better for sure.

Is there anyone else with this issue? It seems a little off-topic to ask this since I'm not the OP but I think it's similar to the topic at hand.
