I'm looking for some new anime to watch and just wanted to know what you all thought was a hidden gem. It can be any anime, but if it's here on Crunchyroll thats even better.

I'm not sure if I can say that it's underrated since it got a second series announced but I didn't see enough people freak out about Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend which is now literally my favourite anime to date.

Just my personal opinion of course, but I really enjoyed Hell Girl. I'm not sure if it's underrated or not, but also Dusk Maiden of Amnesia was really good.

All in all, it depends on what genre you feel like watching, i'll personally watch anything (except GLASSLIP, it can burn in hell).

In my opinion Sora no Woto. It's one of my top five favorite anime. It has amazing music from michiru ooshima and amazing animation by A-1, it's post-apocalyptic yet more positive, but no one seems to care much about if they even know about it. Also, kalifina does the opening..

^^^ The guy three posts above me beat me to the punch.

EDIT ~ However, for those with similar tastes to my own, I would be happy if they found Aria sooner rather than later. It's not exactly "hidden", and it's not for everyone, but it's definitely a gem. But I always bring up Aria, so maybe for something more original i'll say...

Princess Jellyfish? Yea - not exactly hidden, but again, an often overlooked gem.

Mitsudomoe is a hilarious comedy that I would've never noticed if a friend hadn't brought it to my attention.

Betterman is an action/horror/mecha show I watched on the old TechTV channel's "Anime Unleashed". It was actually hard to find and I had to buy the DVD's though.

Space Brothers is actually very popular, just not with the people who only watch bloody, violent, action packed shows. I'd actually say it the the best non-violent anime that doesn't even use sex appeal to sell.

Toradora isn't underrated, I just felt like mentioning that one in case you haven't seen it. It'll make you laugh. It'll make you cry. It's amazing.

Shin Sekai Yori
the most underrated anime I've seen in a while, deep and dark, great artstyle and with a really good message, its on crunchyroll

Welcome to the NHK
one of the most depressing animes that deals with the worlds darkness in a subtle way, suicides, neets, assassinations, drugs, poverty, gaming addiction, etc.... . its on netflix

EF: A tale of two (tale of melodies and tale of memories, both on crunchyroll)
personal choice, really liked the art style and how the stories developed, dark stories of love wrapping up together

My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy
my personal fav anime when it comes to comedy alongside gintama, this anime is probably the funniest anime in crunchyroll

different genres, underrated as fuck

Fate/Stay: Night.

I guess I sound like a broken record with that anime - but for some reason it seems to be popular in the gray area of mainstream-otaku, more towards the otaku spectrum. And I dislike the fact that everyone who hears the hype of the 2014 UBW, is going to just rush off and watch /that/ first, rather than go in order.

FSN has a really beautiful romance, and great action. But, idk... I know it's not as popular as like Pokémon or DBZ because it doesn't quite have that much awesome senseless action that appeals to the masses... but it still should've been more popular than, Code Geass, which is known by the mainstream.

But, then again not everyone is into romances. QQ I guess.
