That twist at the end... I don't know. It was unexpected but I have a hard time believing they fooled everyone. They could've spent an extra minute explaining exactly how they managed to pull it off. It felt unconvincing, like how fake the bad guys are portrayed in this anime. The drug addict doctor and his war flashback were the highlight of the episode. I look forward to seeing more of him.

Damn. Is everyone in anime just super cut these days? i mean some series even like 14-year-old kids are ripped. In this one old men are jacked haha. Carrying around my keg makes me yearn for a six-pack. Time to start doing crunches haha.

Enjoyable second episode. I like how so far each episode is kind of it's own self-contained story.

The stories in this anime are always new and not typical its why this show is so good. I am guessing nobody figured out the ending before it happen love a show that's unpredictable not to often a veteran anime viewer can be fooled or kept guessing till the end

Well, that was interesting. Very melodramatic but hard not to be considering the subject matter. Man, don't feel bad about that cult leader at all. What a d*ck to throw money at the guy sacrificing his heart for you and basically call him a whore.

The ethics questions of money meets medicine are a big theme in Black Jack and it's an important topic today.

Also: remember never to borrow money in Japan.

Episode 2

Face transplant over the heart transplant seemed like a huge bailout.

The old series wouldn't have done this.

pretty intense episode... organ smuggling is indeed a real in the black market especially in Asia.

Heart transplant by one surgeon without an assistant or 2... muri desu yo ne , i have assisted in a lot of those cases in myline of work over 10 years ago and you need a perfussionist...

A compete face transfer ....never seen or know any done ... , just face lifts

well this is just anime , anything is possible

While it was a enjoyable episode, the whole facial transplant was a cop out, and over-simplified the resolution.
Never mind how long it takes to heal and the different body builds, how is an immigrant supposed to fool that sect's followers?

I enjoyed this a lot ! Good vs Evil decisions ! His buddy is interesting ! "Nam" really affected him !

I am again taken back by the thoughts that anime has to set in the realm of realitly ! Are you kidding me ? You have to accept anime logic ! You are watching to entertain yourself not to say it's impossible ! Please stop this silly thoughts you people actually scare me trying to match anime to real life !

This is occuring way too often ! Unless otherwise stated anime is fiction people ! The same goes for Comics / TV / Movies etc !

Episode 3

And now, the patient this time is a deserter of Vietnam, and this guy's situation is really bad. Not only is he in dire need of an operation, he can't turn to normal doctors or else he faces military tribunal. Luckily, he rank into a skilled doctor who has no loyalties, but even so he can't do it all by himself. Of course, Hazama stands to lose his chance at his medical license, but that means nothing to him as all he wants to do is save lives no matter who the patient is. With that, there goes Hazama's chance at becoming licensed for operating on a deserter. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place. Anyway, I just don't like the way this story is being told, so with that, this show is busted.

Episode 3

A surprisingly amount of realism in this series. I liked the episode as it focused on Hazama's personal and professional struggle (something connected to his past most likely).

The episodic nature of the show may have a linear connection that reflects his character.
I really thought that woman with the gun played an antagonist role though with the way she was intimidating Hazama. Still, a thrilling episode with that operation.

Episode 3

I believe this series is taking an interesting route.

There is a lot of character conflict, psychological ideals, and surgical thrills in this series and I believe those elements work. 3 episodes in and I am understanding where this is going and I am liking it. Hazama and his past remain a mystery, but it is affecting him in a way that is driving his actions in the present, despite the selfishness of people and I like that because it builds conflict with characters and depending on the situation, it can be very psychological for Hazama. Of course, the meat of the episode was the surgery and how it was a little in-depth with it, which was wonderful. I am sticking around for this series, so I am looking forward to the next episode!

There are no right or wrong actions in medicine.

Loved that bit.
