Irony. Yeah, it's just conversation. You don't want to participate in conversation? Fine. But no need to gripe that people are trying to have one.

i think they ask because they're curious or want to start a conversation instead of feeling bored? idk. i would be funny about it and tell them to go to school and become a psychic. then they can try and read my mind lol.

They're probably just trying to know you better.

So be flattered that your brain is attractive enough to be spoken too.

It all depends of who is asking. I am guessing you are male and a female is asking you, "What are you thinking?". Please look up " The nothing box" if you really want to understand what is going on on youtube.

It all depends on the context but not considering other peoples thoughts can be pretty selfish in some situations.

I've been a VP for various organizations, and when deciding to do something, whether it is a change in policy, hosting an event etc.. asking for other peoples thought on it is vital to try and make sure that everyone is happy. So yeah, I've asked people this, I've had other people ask me.. it's pretty normal thing to do in my opinion.

It depends. If they genuinely want my opinion then it is a good thing. If they want me to express my opinion just so they can go "wrong!" to whatever i say, then it gets incredibly annoying.

Wow... the irony of the topic....

But seriously, to answer the question. People don't ask me my thoughts enough for it to really be a problem, but when they do, I tend to answer them in as few words as I think will satisfy them. Unless I'm itching to talk about my thoughts or problems. Then woe betide that fool for being curious.

Sometimes it's good to find a few opinions on subjects. I like to listen/read what people have to say.

As long as it's not bigoted and intolerant, of course.
